March 9, 201511 yr I can't see us offering a 31 year old a 4 year deal, especially when the club captain, currently one of our best players is likely to only be offered a 12 month extension.
March 9, 201511 yr I suppose the bonus is if they do well like Terry and before him Lampard then you will be offered a deal. Downside is other clubs will be willing to offer 3-4 year deals to them and that for a player is vital in terms of security. I'd make an exception to Ivan as he looks as able and fresh as he ever has for us. Easily a few more seasons in him at the very top.
March 16, 201511 yr I am wondering if he could be tried on the right of our 3 behind Costa. Jose does not seem to want to give Cuadrado much of a starting chance and Brana''s bombing forward from right back leaves us open time and again. We know Brana is good going forward and has a good finish on him. He is vastly better attacking than he is defending imo. Tibo Azpi Zouma/Cahill JT Luis Matic Ramires Cesc Brana Hazard Costa
March 16, 201511 yr Brana is not a midfielder. End of. If you want the best of him at the back, stop him bombing forward. it's not that he defends badly, he's just not there to do it when caught out of position. Edited March 16, 201511 yr by Blue Exile
April 13, 201511 yr Awesome !! There is a look of 'How many f**ks do i give about you tossers' on his face, and the disdainful look backwards is priceless. The man is a beast, and every one of those w**kers gobbing off would have run a mile if Brana said... 'C'mon then fella let's be 'avin it then shall we'
April 13, 201511 yr the bloke to the lefts arse fell right out when Ivanovic leant back, the daft gobsh*te looked terrified.
April 13, 201511 yr Love the way the guy pipes down as soon as Ivanovic confronts him. Typical coward, once confronted they lose their bottle.
April 30, 201511 yr Same number of assists as Ozil http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3062448/Chelsea-right-Branislav-Ivanovic-five-assists-season-number-Arsenal-s-42-5m-playmaker-Mesut-Ozil.html Edited April 30, 201511 yr by Blue Daze

April 30, 201511 yr Branna - one of Roman-era best buy's! No doubt about it. Best in the business. Long live Branna!

May 1, 201511 yr It's amazing how unnoticed the man will go considering he has played every minute of league football this season and popped up with key goals and assists. The epitome of reliability, he's one of the hardest-working players in the team, you know he's going to put a shift in, win the vast majority of aerial duels even though every manager knows the goal kicks will be going to him and he's a warrior. Not just that but he was a January buy, he's been here for almost 8 years yet he cost just £9 million - that makes him the most expensive transfer in our back four though, with Cahill and Azpi both bought for about £7 million. That is remarkable value. I'd argue that his best season was 2010 - until now. For a player to be getting better after his 30s is amazing and I wish he got more credit. He probably won't get many POTY votes and that's understandable....but I'd hate to imagine this season without him. Take a bow Branna.
May 1, 201511 yr I love Brana he will be one of chelsea legend in the future and maybe the captain soon
May 1, 201511 yr I think he has been getting caught out at right back a lot less in the last few games and has looked really solid. Willian has also become a much bigger threat going forward too, i think this is linked. With Willian improving on his attacking play of late, we haven't needed Ivanovic to bomb forward as much.
May 1, 201511 yr Why strange? Ozil has been a massive flop, and it's funny to point and laugh. Because the author, rightfully, highlights that Ozil has been out half the season and played half the amount of games so it renders the premise of the article pointless. Nothing wrong with pointing and laughing, just felt that the article took a strange path in doing so. Edited May 1, 201511 yr by Remodez
May 1, 201511 yr Do you not think a £42m attacking midfielder should get more assists than a right back even if he plays less games? He's been a terrible signing.

Nothing wrong with pointing and laughing, just felt that the article took a strange path in doing so. I actually agree with you on this. I agree that Ozil has been a flop but the person writing this seems to be looking for a reason to throw more criticism at him. Why single out Ozil ? Ivanovic has as many assists as Silva has got in the entire season but Silva isn't getting any criticism this season. He also has more or as many assists in the league as Herrera, Mata, Rooney, Toure, Coutinho ( a player in the team of the year ) Willian and Ramsey but they ain't getting the same kind of criticism either.

May 25, 201511 yr Don't know why I love this image of Ivanovic so much. Two players seemed to just take themselves away from the celebrations for a moment - one was Diego whilst all the players were in front of the Matthew Harding and the other was Branna after the lap of honour. Job done, almost every single minute played and now he can finally rest.
