August 24, 20187 yr Whatever the outcome is, our future development is still down to RA, hopefully the government stop dicking him around, but we do need to progress, look at the news of the attempted takeover of liverpool for vast sums by the Man city owners cousin!! As my User ID suggests I come from an era when SB looked very different than it does today, but 1978 or 2018, I still get the same buzz in my gut as I round the corner, where the club shop used to be and see the stadium in front of me. And to be honest an extra 18k seats isn't going to make me feel any different. I think she looks pretty sexy just the way she is. I'm with you on most of that WhiteWall. I still can't get excited about the new stadium design, got very mixed feeling about it and I like the current stadium apart from the hotch potch of the Shed End. I can see why it was built that way at the time but if we could just demolish that and build a bigger stand there and increase the capacity to say...50-55,000 I think it would be fine.

We're a bigger club but i wouldn't say we're a better brand atm. Not really sure what we can offer better than City, other than our location. Plus those City owners always manage to strike dodgy deals to get more money into City.

Roman, as far as I can tell, hasnt "doped" the accounts to include sponsors from one of his own companies. PSG and City have both done it, PSG are considerably worse than City for it but both clubs knew it was a good way to dump money into the club.
December 21, 20187 yr CPO AGM is to take place at the Bridge at 11.00am on Friday, 25 January 2019. I received my invitation and papers this morning. Will scan and post the papers on here in the next day or so. Could be an interesting meeting with the redevelopment of the stadium being put on hold.
January 26, 20197 yr Yesterday was the CPO AGM. I went along with some of the guys I go the games with. There was about 100 people in attendance - recognised a few people from games and previous AGMs. Of the five people who make up the CPO board only two were in attendance. I'm not sure why the other three were at the meeting. The CPO board wasn't able to report anything on the re-development of the Bridge as they hadn't heard anything from the Chelsea board. Have to say, I wasn't surprised. Most of the meeting was taken up with how to sell more CPO shares. In the last "CPO" year £23,000 worth of shares was sold which was half the amount in the previous year. When shares were first sold they cost £100 each. Shares are now £25. Last year two events were held to raise more money. It was suggested that more events are held and advertising and sale of CPO shares be carried out in the Megastore and Museum. As for using the Megastore, there are some legal issues which will need to be resolved as the store has been leased by the club to Nike. One CPO shareholder made, in my view, an important point about how many fans are aware of the work of the CPO and the reasons for setting it up. A couple of people suggested about lobbying the Home Office for Roman to have his U.K. visa renewed. Am not sure how successful that would be given the number of visa applications the Home Office have to consider and process. Also with issues over Brexit, I'm not sure if Roman's visa will be seen as a priority by the Home Office. If I think of anything else I'll post later. If anyone else was at the meeting and I've missed anything or get anything wrong, please add or correct.

The idea behind the formation of the CPO was a stroke of genius from Ken Bates that is still relevant today when I see that the current board can't even be arsed to communicate with the CPO over the redevelopment plans If there is an official link for the purchase of new shares perhaps the mods could post this on the site?

Also didn’t know shares were only £25 now.

Thank you Just. Agree, the formation of the CPO was a great move by Ken. When it was setup the club was going through a difficult time ( a bit of an understatement!) with Marler Estates etc. 15 hours ago, Munkworth said: https://www.chelseafc.com/en/cpo/buy-a-share I never see anything about anything anywhere regarding CPO despite being active on social media platforms etc. If there were events with player meet and greets, Q&As etc (either current or former), I’d probably have gone to one. The CPO does have a page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/chelseapitchowners/ There are also accounts on twitter and instagram. Hopefully the CPO will be able to advertise in the megastore and museum.
January 27, 20197 yr Cheers for the Facebook link @Boyne maybe the club could do a better job getting these things out there.

I have heard him speak of the situation at the time and his wish to make certain that the ground could never be purchased by developers again. Setting up the CPO scheme was the vehicle to ensure that.
