March 8, 20233 yr We might get more fans if we go to Earls Court as for a number it will shorten the journey. A lot of CFC come from Kent and Surrey and also London areas like Kingston, Battersea, Clapham, Mitcham, Croydon and Purley areas.

Have you ever met a Chelsea fan from Knightsbridge, The King's Road, Earls Court, High Street Kensington or Bayswater I haven't but you can almost guarantee that places like Holloway, Finsbury Park and the surrounding areas will be Arsenal fans, Seven Sisters, Edmonton etc full of Spurs and practically everyone in the East End supports West Ham apart from a few Orient fans. Maybe 30 years ago, but that's just not what London is like now. But even if they was the case, wider area includes, Clapham, tooting, Sutton, Croydon, Battersea, Hammersmith, Wimbledon. It's not much of a journey to go to a game from there. And really if you're going to claim the whole east end for west ham as local you need to include at least Clapham and Wimbledon for Chelsea. We'd definitely sell out 60k. We can sell out carabao cup games against lower league opposition on the same nights Tottenham and arsenal only attract 20k
March 8, 20233 yr Matt Law on this podcast talks about the stadium, worth a listen. - Stand by stand isn’t do-able - Just to knock down SB and clear the rubble would take 18 months. Earl’s Court probably not an option Not sure where the club go from here. https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/london-is-blue-chelsea-fc-soccer-podcast/id914691565?i=1000602734445

That's my point. I don't live in England, so I asked because I always have a feeling that Chelsea have less local fanbase than Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham. Am I Right or wrong? Sutton is 10 miles from the Bridge so not exactly on our doorstep.. Crowds of 30.000 odd including away support under sanctions so you're saying we will double our home support and sell out every game I can't see it, If we have to go to Wembley Sutton is 20 miles away how many are likely to travel midweek in the rush hour against say Burnley if they get promoted it will definitely affect numbers. Edit: I've just seen Spurs got 25,000 for that Europa Conference last year I'm not sticking up for those twats but I'd doubt we'd get much more unless admission was reduced. I think that or CC could work for lesser games but we'll need a lot bigger for the big ones. Interesting about Reading being an option. I don't go to games so I cannot speak what would work best for the match going fan, I would venture maybe Fulham.

Crowds of 30k under sanctions? That's how many were allowed to come. We got 36k for the league cup home fixture last season and we charge more than arsenal or Tottenham. I'm disputing that we have less fans who are able to go to games. The idea that Tottenham and West Ham are more likely to sell out a 60k stadium is laughable.

Well West Ham do sell out every week despite their fans hating the place and it was season ticket holders under sanctions how many more thousands of st holders do you think we will attract with a 60,000 stadium especially if prices go up God knows how much admission will be in 5/10 years.

I think you're confused, when under sanctions season ticket holders were the only ones allowed to go. So there's no relevance to this discussion as under sanctions Stamford bridge was effectively a sell out (we sold every single ticket available). We will definitely sell out every PL game at 60k. There's no doubt about that. Try and buy a ticket to a home game on a Saturday even now. On Monday we started selling tickets to members for the Brighton game. A game against an unglamorous team that means nothing to our season...it sold out. Also, 60k is only 18k more than what we have now. Do I think we can sell an additional 6-8k season tickets (as it's impossible to get one now), boost corporate by 1-2k and then sell 9k more tickets to members and general public every week? Yes. 1000%.

Yes. 1000%. Yes I know st holders were the only ones allowed in that's why I said it. 28,000 approx st holders under sanctions you say an extra 6-8k and the rest of your figures add up to 47,000. Our capacity at the moment is 40,300 not 42 which I think you are claiming. You have to start from 28,000 as the base figure that's how many season tickets we have plus 3,000 away support so only 9,000 go on general sale. Can we double that with new st holders and general sale every week I'm not so sure especially like I said this won't be happening anytime soon. Edited March 9, 20233 yr by bluehaze
