Let's just offer the world to buy BALE

Even though he is "not of the bottle" he is 3rd behind the players and Us that make this club great. Just feel we are pinning too much on him

Can't see Bale coming to us

I can see Bale to Madrid to replace Ronaldo coming to us

Bale would improve any team but he wouldn't be sold to us and I doubt we are in for him considering we have Hazard, Mata and Oscar.

I was surprised to read he's only got 8 assists for the whole premier league season. I think for all his undoubted quality going forward we'd be better of concentrating on that striker position and someone else.

considering they took a hit just so that Modric wouldn't join us (we bid in excess of £40m in 2011 - he went to Real Madrid for just over £30m in 2012), there is no chance Bale will be coming to Stamford Bridge

Hazard will be superior to him in just about every way in the next 2 years, no thanks.

Yes, but then we could have them both. Hazard on the left, Bale on the right.

I rate Bale as a player, he is definitely a match winner.

That said, I really feel that there are 2 factors that he has at Tottenham that he wouldn't get at say Madrid.

1. His given basically a completely free role to move around and contribute how he wants. If he moves to Man City, Madrid, United or us he's likely to find his role to be a little more structured. This isn't such a huge issue in the sense he is originally a left wing back and can play a defensive role if required and this can actually be an advantage for him as he's more likely to be able to fit in a big team if his not only able to play a completely non-defensive role. But it will mean he creates less than he does currently at Tottenham.

2. This is mostly about the league. But while it's true smaller players can absolutely be productive in the Premiership with the whole needing to be big thing a bit of a myth, being quick is actually pretty important.

Shevchenko for example struggled at Chelsea not because of lack of skill, but because he wasn't quick enough and the game tended to "pass him by" at times.

Ballack when he first joined Chelsea was played at the tip of the midfield diamond by Mourinho and similarly struggled to keep up until Grant moved him into a deeper role alongside Lampard where he played the rest of his Chelsea days before departing.

Anyways, while pace is important in the premiership, players who rely on pace like Thierry Henry (at Barca), sometimes struggle in slower leagues like La Liga because thr slower tempo allows opposition teams to get back and constrict the space better.

I can see Bale (like Henry before him) struggling to replicate his Tottenham form in another league.

TL/DR?

Basically i'm suggesting while a wonder player, he isn't likely to be AS good for another club as he is at Tottenham where everything is set up for him to succeed and if he does move he should definitely remain in England as it suits his game most.

Thierry didnt struggle in Spain...but I agree with you, Bale wouldnt be as good in any other side...he also cuts in onto his left foot a lot and can be predictable

For all his raw individual talent - I don't really want Bale coming here.

Obviously he's a Spurs guy now - but as mentioned, he is a Gerrard 'me first' kind of guy, who may have developed that way out of necessity, but when seeing the likes of Hazard and Mata giving up scoring positions for the betterment of the team, I'm not sure that they would adapt to having a more selfish playmaker in the team - and if they did, how effective Bale would be in a more talented team

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't have a spare world. I'm only renting the one I'm using now.

Bale would be a success but possibly to the detriment of other players, especially as he would be playing in an already well-stocked position. He's demonstrated over the last two seasons that he is no longer an orthodox winger either.

For me, a world-class forward is what we need and would bring more to the team than what Bale would, even if Bale is a better player. Look at how many assists Mata and Hazard have racked up this season despite our woes in the forward line- it would be more prudent to accentuate that strength rather than try and paper over the cracks by getting a solo matchwinner.

The way I see it is that a manager of Jose's status and track record is instrumental in attracting the very top players (along with a huge lump of cash!). This is why I say his signing is more important tgan an individual player.

Bale will not leave, at least not next season. Thfc have had a good year (even after Sunday) and there's a sense of progress and potential about the team. As some here have mentioned, Bale is first among equals at Spurs, with all that that means. He has a strong personal relationship with AVB and that, his freedom on the pitch, and the thought of a v good season to come (and the new pay deal on offer) will keep him with us. There's also the fact that Spurs are sound, financially. I know that forty million plus is a serious amount of money, but we can afford to say no.

Spurs need to keep Bale because we can't be a selling club and, at the same time, be ambitious. Bale will also attract others players to Spurs.

The caveat to the above is that he could go after next season, if we don't build on this year.
