He has the same agent as Jose doesnt he. Maybe the agent kicks a little bit of money Jose's way each time he gets a new years contract.

Hilario is a poor keeper, although what can you really expect from a 3rd choice. He's had some good performances, but he's had some howlers as well (man city at home).

I think it would be more beneficial to have a homegrown 2nd and 3rd choice keeper, as it gives us a bit more squad flexibility.

Fairly positive news, just curious what will happen regarding Courtois and Cech... We are basically spoiled in that position next season assuming all three remain.

At 41 you suspect that Schwarzer might be content to be 3rd choice now, although it's still far from clear what's going on with Cech and Courtois. 

 

Still, I'm happy with this news, as Schwarzer played well when called upon last season.

I still think it's pretty 50/50 to be honest. Would Cech just consent to leave? Surely he would want to fight it out for his spot. Many would argue he is still better than Courtois.

Schwarzer deal is great news though. Big fan of him and would be good for Thibaut if he did come back.

In my eyes it does. I just don't think Courtois would want to be shipped out on loan for the 4th season in a row or whatever it is now. He has established himself. And Cech won't want to sit on the bench so it all just looks set up for the next season.

I think it's all going to depend on Cech's shoulder injury.

 

If he isn't going to be fit for the start of the season then I think Courtois will be given a chance because I don't think you can go into a new campaign without a fit first choice keeper, especially if there are doubts about their full recovery.

 

After all, that's how Cech got his chance at Chelsea when Cudicini was injured going into the new season. 

Great news on singing a new deal.

I doesnt mean Cech or Courtois will be sold. Mark will be 3rd choice. Having let go our 3rd choice keeper today we will need another one. At Mark's age im sure he is pleased to be on a nice contract. Its not like he has to worry about trying to get in his international team now is it.

I hope we keep all three just so we can relive the good old days of being able to say that we have three goalkeepers better than Arsenal's first-choice!
