I never really understood this tapping up thing. It happens with every deal surely. Why would a club go through all the hassle of agreeing a fee and then being allowed for the player to talk to the buying club if then the player doesnt fancy the move or the buying club wont offer enough wages.

Surely every deal the buyers will contact the players agent to see if there is interest and talk wages and add ons before then going to the club to agree a fee.

Sounds like theres definitely something going on. There's too many rumours for there not to be.

I think when you take a player to a hotel, against the clubs will to sell at any cost, to tell the player how much they will get if they force a move, is wrong. Thats what tapping up to me is.

I mentioned this before but age is a factor.

 

Fabregas is just 27, Schweinsteiger will be 30 when the season kicks off. Those 3 years make a difference, and I don't really want to see us spending huge amounts of money on 'old' players.

Every possible scenario has been 'reported' today from a medical being completed to us not bring interested in him at all. All in all, nobody knows anything.

I highly doubt the deal will be completed till after the world cup.

Fabregas, Costa and a left back would be good business. If we cant get Fabregas we should go for Koke but he will cost a lot. Pogba is unrealistic imo...

We could also just use PVA and Berty for our left backs instead of buying one.

That's an odd thing to report though, can medicals be done before the transfer has been agreed? Seems like maybe something really is happening but to say he's passed a medical seems a step too far if its not true.

Its often that medicals are done in places other than the club's facility. For example, I think it happens quite a bit during the transfer deadline day, after all all you need to know is that the player is fit, it doesn't really matter where you do the test. Think about it like an entry exam into a school, sure some people go to the actual school to take the exam but others will do it in other places.

Strange indeed, my bet would be its an extremely slow week for premier league reporting and this is the only bit of dangling fruit they have to go with.

Apparantly we will try to sign Koke or Pogba.
