A few people have been questioning how he would fit into our team, if true it could be a sign of Jose wanting to return to a 4-3-3 shape with a midfield trio of matic - Oscar - fabregas behind a front 3 led by Costa.

Mourinho is not interested in playing 'attractive' football. We all know that. We're going into the mould of a strong counter attacking outfit. Great when we're being attacked, but bad when we need to break down walls.

We aren't going to get the barca fabregas! Fabregas when he is at his best is up and down the pitch and has the class needed in the final third. Barca turned him into a typical barca player who just picks up the ball far up the pitch and passes. The fabregas we would see at chelsea if we get him will be making runs from deep with the protection of matic.

I put the attractive football in ' ' because I agree. Roman wants us to play like Barcelona (apparently). Mourinho is not interested in that. Counter attacking football (when it's done correct) is a joy to behold. I don't feel we've done it right this season. Our decision making in the final third is poor overall.

 

We need a Plan B to help us knock the walls down. Relying on a piece of brilliance from Hazard isn't the way to go.

I've always rated Fabregas - he is a very good footballer, which IMO is what we need.

 

I also think he is a fighter. There was a lot of occasions when he was by far Arsenal's best player in certain matches, and he could of left Barcelona last year but was prepared to stay and fight for his place.

 

He also has a great record for assists and chips in with his fair share of goals. We will need someone other than Hazard feeding Costa.

 

My only worry is I haven't really seen anything yet that makes me think this deal is close. Maybe Mourinho has his doubts about him and Fabregas has his doubts about playing for Mourinho.

 

I hope this happens though - £30 million would be a good price for someone that talented.

I think a lot of it is speculation, I'm still baffled by Marca reporting a medical has been done, it's a really strange rumour to spread
