Transfer Deadline Thread

Featured Replies

If anyone has a link to Sky Sports News Tomorrow, I thought we could share that, and update one another on all things happening on the final day of the transfer window.

Thanks

Sorry to piggy back thread but I didnt want the Spuds to have there own one (sorry THFC)  so this seemed as good as any.

Apart from a few released their tranfers below netting them about 2.6M with I supose you can discount a bit due to the time and effort a legal costs etc of doing all this business. so lets say ... nothing.

and have they really strengthened ? I would say on the face of it not really ... but time will tell I supose.

Ozil having medical at Arsenal, huge signing for them

Yep. A decent move. This was in this morning's Mirror:

German's Real Madrid team-mate Di Maria and Schalke's Draxler remain on Wenger's radar (as well as Ozil) for deadline day - as does Demba Ba

In the past, some Arsenal deals have fallen at the last fence because of niggles over exact contract terms and agents fees. I wonder if they'll be as firm as in the past about not moving on the amount they offer.

Any word on the fee for Ozil? Some sites online saying it might be a loan.

BBC saying 42,5m.

Good signing for them if it goes through, but not sure it's what they need. Their GK is poor. Their defence is weak. They have one decent striker. If anything, midfield is where they're not too bad. They've got the likes of Carzola, Wilshere, Walcott, etc...

A front 4 of

---Walcott---Ozil---Cazorla

-------------Giroud--------------

is very good indeed. Of course, they have no depth underneath that, but that front 4 is up there with other teams attacking options.

Peter Odemwingie's over-excited drive to QPR was the highlight of the last deadline day. It's not going to happen again but the last day is fascinating.

Only to be beaten by the Madrid owner hiding in the car park with a box of eggs as Bale pulls up with mum and dad in tow.

Hope Moyes f**ks up today by dicking around and ends up signing no one, how the hell he can pick Fellani over Ozil must be mind numbing to Utd fans.

I don't mind Arsenal strengthening, it's only good for the league.  They couldn't win anything with RVP, Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy etc etc so I'm not afraid of them with Ozil in the wider context of the league.  People forget just how good their team was only a few years ago.

Lot of moves this summer haven't made much sense to me. If Ozil goes to Arsenal, it will go to the top of that list for me.

Madrid fans apparently protesting against the move, and rightly so.

GK is fine, they just need backup for competition. Defence? Weak?Their defence is one of the best in the league, second best in the league last season. All they need is another CB or just move Sagna to CB and promote a RB from within. ST isn't too bad, Walcott, Poldolski and Sanagoo would do a decent enough job should Giroud get injured, could be better though.

I would say the only position they desperately need is a CDM.

bit of a dullfest so far...when you see treatment bale is getting at Madrid, you can't blame him for walking out of the lane...wish Chelsea were after a big name, but we've done our spending it seems

they have to pay for bale somehow...Madrid are idiots to buy a player they don't need just cos they're smarting over losing Neymar to barca

most disturbing thing I've seen so far actually took place last night when sky interviewed bale's smug, gloating agents, who admitted to talking to Madrid behind Spurs' backs over three months ago...for all the bs they spouted about it being Bale's dream etc, you knew all they cared about was the whopping fee they'd get...agents are scum
