We could easily get £50m for Lukaku and Ramires imo, who could be part of an exchange deal. It's not inconceivable that our attack next season consists of Costa, Torres and Ba.

Not only conceivable it is also probable. Cannot see Jose being impressed with how Lukaku handles himself in the media so could see him selling Romelu. Ba has said Jose told him he is staying and Torres is unmovable.

Maybe so, but they seem very much Jose signings to me so if that is the case I am happy enough with them. The man said if we worked in the transfer market the way he had discussed with the board he would say we are going for the title from day 1, and I believe him.

 

Hope Pogba is on that list. If Arsenal are after Jose's old midfield lynch pin from Real and we do not rival them for him, then maybe it is because we have our eyes on another player.

We can't sell Torres either, no one will pay his wages, even if we sent him out on loan we would have to cover at least half his wages. Not going to happen, he will see out his contract then be released.

Exactly. But let's ignore the world class performances that Filipe Luis has been putting in for last 2-3 years and point to the fact that Real Madrid released him. If I'm right, they wanted him back in 2010.

I'm a little pessimistic about next season. Maybe watching every chelsea player fail miserably at the world cup (except Schurrle) has left me with doubts. Hazard was especially poor.

If Costa had renegotiated his contract Athletico would have asked for a higher release fee. The fact is they bought him for peanuts only 4 years ago and he has developed exponentially since.

 

The politics in Real is horrible though, they buy players just to buy players with no semblace of though towards if he fits in a balanced team or whos spot they are taking. Just look at the players who have left there recently, Ozil, Robben, Sneijder, Eto'o, Makelele, Van Der Vaart (for <£10mil), Higuain, Mata. All of whom were sold just to get star players in. Remember how Makelele was replaced by that like for like replacement David Beckham, insanity.

And why the heck people think that selling Lukaku is a decent idea. Sell him and then what ? Moan that we've got no decent striker ? Or go for Cavani/Falcao for 50M ? Why not give the kid a f**king chance. When turds like Torres can hog playing time then why so apprehensive in giving Lukaku a decent run and see what he can do. I would love Lukaku to get a run/chance here, but I'm being realistic. It's quite clear that something isn't quite right between him and management at Chelsea and I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave this summer.

In the same boat, last year when Mata was being linked away I said no way, hes too important. Theres no smoke without fire and im assuming Lukaku will go, I just think it'll be the biggest mistake we'll have made since signing Bogarde.

 

There isnt an available striker in world football with his potential and there wont be one available for a price we'd break even who would improve on his currrent ability. I could understand the transfer if we either bough a player of better ability or potential to replace him for roughly the same cost but I cant see it happening. Who is available? I think we are MUCH better off biting the bullet and selling Ba and booting Torres out to sea, making a statement to Lukaku that he has a real chance of being utilised this year. Costa and him with Shurrle and a youngster are more than adequate a choice strike force.

 

EDIT: At the same time though, theres 6 weeks left of the transfer window, we have already signed Fabregas and Costa, Luis is virtually signed and sealed. Fantastic work done early. Im expecting 1 more signing and then thinning the herd out with loans and permanent transfers. Im still expecting a decent quantity of our peripheral players to get bids from the bottom feeders, Mikel, Marin, Bertrand, Romeu, Torres, Ba, Ramires (if Pog signs) are all saleable assets without weakening the side and I expect most to move on.
