Posted March 9, 201411 yr http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/10685707/Chelseas-Oscar-a-40m-target-for-Paris-St-Germain.html I PRAY THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE!!
March 9, 201411 yr Well of course it's true - they want every good player. Doesn't mean they're going to get him,
March 9, 201411 yr I know ill get blasted for this, but id be tempted to sell him for that kind of money
March 9, 201411 yr I know ill get blasted for this, but id be tempted to sell him for that kind of money You know if we got Cavani in return I'd do it as well. May not be a popular opinion but we could move Hazard or Willian to the middle and go for someone like Reus, Draxler or any number of other great AM/winger talents and improve the team substantially for relatively little cost. I'm a fan of more creative players in the 10 role though. That said I doubt Mourinho would entertain the idea since he loves Oscar.

Piazon and Thorgan Hazard have been ripping it up in Eredivisie/Jupiler league. They could very well be ready for the step up. In my opinion Oscar is entirely replacable
March 9, 201411 yr Absolutely not, other than Hazard there is no one in the entire squad that it is more important that we keep hold of.
March 9, 201411 yr I would only entertain this if Cavani were to be involved, otherwise it's a definite 'no' from me.
March 10, 201411 yr As others said, only if Cavani was involved but I very much doubt Jose would sell a man he sold Juan Mata for.
March 10, 201411 yr I'm surprised he's not on Moyes' wish list, he seems to be linked with everyone (if you believe the paper) PSG can and will get stuffed.
March 10, 201411 yr We aren't a selling club, Jose made the decision to entrust Oscar as his number 10 at the start of the season and our current league position justifies that decision. It's no coincidence that Spurs fell apart in the second half at the weekend following Oscar introduction. I know some on here are indifferent about him, especially in the last month or so but I'm a huge fan of him as a player and I don't think we should entertain the idea of selling him.
March 10, 201411 yr PSG are linked with everyone. Exactly, They are like the Chelsea of several seasons ago. Lots of cash to spend, amassing a great team, so lets link them with everyone.
March 10, 201411 yr Since selling mata our players are all being linked for big money moved, were not a selling club, we won't be selling Oscar Jose is basically building his team round him, I love the daily mail, top entertainment (Just noticed the link was from the telegraph but I read it on DM site) Edited March 10, 201411 yr by Veeria

(accept utd, who will still be a buying club!) if we find an amazing replacement then why not? its clearly bs but 40-45m would be brilliant business Edited March 11, 201411 yr by Bigthrobberus
March 11, 201411 yr with ffp, everyone will be a selling club! if we find an amazing replacement then why not? its clearly bs but 40-45m would be brilliant business When was the last time we sold a player who was a regular feature in our starting XI? Mata was clearly out by the time we sold him and KDB wasn't going to get a look in ahead of the five other attacking midfielders. You'd probably have to go back to Robben for the last one and even then he was sold because of his injury problems and unwillingness to play with small knocks and niggles. I would be very surprised to see a player who features as often as Oscar does sold.
March 12, 201411 yr I really hope we don't sell Oscar.. I must admit he's going through a rough patch at the moment, but that doesn't give us enough reason to sell him. Oscar is the future of CFC, selling him would be a bad move.
March 12, 201411 yr I wouldn't be against this for the money that being talked about. I think we could get a replacement in with and put the extra cash towards our striker cost. I think oscar is replaceable, but maybe I just expect much more from him and being too critical.

Who, realistically, do you think Chelsea could buy as an improvement on Oscar that would cost less than £40m? Unless you are bringing in a replacement for half the cost (or at least significantly less money) then what is the point of selling Oscar in the first place?

March 12, 201411 yr Kroos or Pogba and play a 4-3-3 ----------------Matic Pogba/Kroos-----Rami/van ginkel You're being to simplistic about it, Oscar's current wages are rumoured to be £40k per week (http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2014/1/8/5276182/chelsea-player-wage-database-salaries-january-transfer-window), what do you think we would have to pay Pogba or Kroos per week to get them to leave two of the biggest clubs in Europe? £150k a week? £200k a week? It just makes no sense to say let's sell Oscar one of the highest rated young players in Europe just so we can play fantasy football and put in someone else from Europe who may or may not improve the team. There's a good spine of players in the squad right now, all of a young age who are growing together as a team I don't understand advocating the idea of selling one of the players who is central to that just because you don't think he's scored enough goals this season. There is zero guarantee that any player could come into our team and improve it, every transfer is a gamble and to gamble on a position that isn't glaringly a weakness or problem strikes me as odd.
