Diego Costa to Chelsea

All 4 pundits are ex Liverpool players on sky. I can understand alonso but surely this would have been better with the likes of gullit on.

Jamie redknapp never even played champions league football!

On playstation he has

I'm very wary of buying Costa. It'd be just typical of us to spend a fortune on the next Michael Owen. Hamstring problems have a habit of hanging around for years. I'd even go as far to say that Falcao, post ACL rupture is a safer bet in terms of future injury form.

I've never really wanted him, but if there's even any possibility that he's going to have a recurring problem like a hamstring, then we must stay away. I can't take another Shevchenko/Torres situation.

Do you know the one thing I've noticed more than any other during this game? Arda turans heed is f**king enormous.

So who is worthy of being our #1 striker?  And please don't say Lukaku or Mandžuki? because neither of them are "game changing" striker options.  Cavani for me is the only one who would be worthy of the spot, but you're gonna spend almost 60M to get him.

Atletico Madrid CEO Angel Gil Marin: "Regarding Diego Costa, we have made a very aggressive approach for him to stay. Depends on him"

Did Simeone threaten him with a knife?

So where do we go if he takes up Atleitco''s offer? Lukaku, Ba and Bamford?

I do wonder if our move for Costa falls through if our meeting with Atletico knocked the whole row of dominoes down. Where it was written before we would loan Courtios back to them, again, and get to sign Costa in return, now seems like Courtios will return, Costa may stay there and our striker hunt will go on. Have to wonder if that wonder save from JT's header changed the course of a few peoples careers.

Saw Arsenal are also looking at him now...although if it was down to both he'd surely pick ourselves.

Yes - agreed here PLUS they would not pay enough for him. Arsenal would value him at 25 mil MAX and claim they should not have to pay more - OH woah is me, we are the righteous club and Chelsea are paying too much for him.

Still, little worried but fairly confident we can come out on top

I wonder if Atleti losing their only shot at the CL might help persuade him to leave, that's one of the reasons I slightly wanted Real to win it.

If Costa loves Athletico he may well stay, unless he fancies winning the Premier League especially. There's no other reason footballing wise for him to leave at the moment, they're a great team and who says they can't be successful again next season too?

I'm not too disappointed if we miss out on Costa, as long as we have adequate back up options... But we're just about to rob PSG for the huge Luiz fee, so Cavani isn't gonna be a good option financially if we want him.

If we're stuck with Lukaku, Torres and Ba next season I will cry.  :face_palm:
