that is the least detailed article I have ever seen. I could just speculate - Drogba faces 1 year out....

The only thing provided with actual quotes or any evidence whatsoever is what Evissy posted of Drogba saying he hopes to be better in the next few days, so i'm inclined to believe that story.

I assume it is too early to tell how long is Drogba out. I sure hope he recovers soon. The team cannot rely on Costa alone.

I dont see why it would be too early. A simple X-ray/mri scan should be enough for some kind of estimate

There are a lot of hoaxes on Twitter about him being out for 6 months, all horsesh*t. A couple of weeks at most.

They normally have to wait until the initial swelling and bruising goes down to do any scans or tests I think.

as someone whos had his fair share of dislocations and ligament tears i can tell you thats not true. Hell, ive had severe bruising last for a couple of months

Ive had a couple of injuries and both times was told to wait for the initial swelling/bruising to go down or they wouldn't get a full picture of the problem.

Yeah I've heard managers in the past saying they need to wait till the swelling is down before they know the extent of the problem?

Was the signing of Drogba a shrewd business or a sentimental nonsense? I hope, Drogba's injury is nothing serious & he is back with the team shortly.

I think they will have already had an initial scan, and if it was good news then the club would have made an announcement already.

My gut feeling is the initial scan wasn't looking good aand they will scan again in the next few days to assess the full extent of the injury, and to hope it doesn't require surgery.

Hopefully he's ok but if not we best be on the move for another striker of some standing because it's disaster time if we onyl have Torres as back up.

If Drogba is badly injured i say go for Remy, he wouldn't cost a lot and i think he is better than both Drogba and Torres.

He's quicker than both and far more dangerous than Torres.

He should never been allowed to leave for Shanghai Shenhua in the first place. Whoever made that terrible decision was unforgivable! However, to sign a 36 years old after complaining a 32 years old as 35, it make no sense. It is a strange situation to keep Torres and sign Drogba. It would be much healthier for club to get rid go Torres and sign another top striker so CFC could have two regular strikers and Drogba as a replacement.

He ran pretty nicely to the team introduction yesterday. I think it is a small knock and he is probably going to miss Burnley.

i think this needs to get to Jose, I really want Remy to play instead of Drogba please

I dont really have much expectation to Drogba as he is already 36, so please, Jose let him play in CoC please instead of champions league and match vs Man city

Don't think Jose trust Remy yet, that's why the reason he didn't get much game time in the last 2 games. Drogba is 36, he won't be back to his old self 3-4 years ago, he's ok filling the gap as a sub,and as a Senior man in the lockeroom, but not much else.

 

I thought against 10 men and tiring legs, Remy could be more than a handeful had he replaced Costa.

Think he came on because Costa had been key to our defensive work at corners (City had 14), plus we were defending deeper so needed his body to hold up the ball.

Pretty much how I saw it, whichever striker came in was going to be isolated and Remy doesn't look the type of striker for that job. And also as you say, reigns is excellent defensively at set pieces.
