Excellent player. Was outstanding for Atletico last season. Amazed he was left out of the Brazil squad by Scolari. But that says more about Scolari than Luis...

When he said "You will never see Filipe walking on the pitch, always running" that made me smile. The signing of Luis seems to be overshadowed by the Costa and Fabregas ones, but this guy could be very influential for us next season.

He showed for us that he is good enough. Surely what he's actually done for us is more important than what he did in an utterly sh*te villa side?

 

Seriously can't get my head round why Bertrand has been completely left out. If he's cast aside after breaking into the team, starting in the CL final and generally putting in good performances when he's called upon then I don't see what chance any youth team player has with us. What more could he have proved given the amount of 1st team action he's got?

... If only we'd paid 10-15 million for him.

Ake was wearing 4 - made me sit up when I turned over and saw that shirt with that hair!!  But Fabregas is wearing that number next season.

Damn good signing. This guy is the real deal.

Yes I had actually, I remember watching him for Deportivo back in 2006 (when I watched Spanish football consistently) and I highly rated him then. He was one of those players that I always signed on PES aswell because I liked him so much in real life. I remember finding out about he had suffered a bad injury but I wasn't watching La Liga as much then and it was thought his career was over. I was actually quite surprised he came back and reached the top level after I'd read his career was over.

He was the worst player for us on that night and generally his performances have been rather poor. In fact, I can't remember a single decent performance. Of course he's homegrown and we all want our own talents to succeed, but in the case of Bertrand it will never happen. We might as well accept it and move on.
