August 3, 201411 yr Steve Bruce is also another candidate, Nutcase chairman, Europa League distractions so league form is guaranteed to take a dip from last year, If they fail to get out the group stages of the EL and are sitting in the relegation zone, Hull fans could turn on the chairman after all of the Hull City Tigers nonsense and the chairman could in turn sack the manager, His odds are 25/1, 20 on that and if it pays out, A trip to soho suffices.
August 3, 201411 yr Didn't see the utd game. How did they play? I heard they played well. Did both teams have strong teams out. Starting Line ups: Manchester United: De Gea; M Keane, Jones, Evans, Valencia, Herrera, Fletcher, Young, Mata, Rooney, Welbeck. Subs: Zaha (41) for Welbeck (Injury caution), Young, Evans and Herrera (46) for Shaw, Evans and Cleverley. Valencia, Rooney and Mata (62) for Hernandez, Kagawa and Lingard. Real Madrid: Casillas; Ramos, Pepe, Nacho; Arbeloa, Illarmendi, Alonso, Carvajal; Modric, Bale, Isco. Subs: (Ronaldo 74), (De Tomas 56), Goals: Young (21, 37) Bale (pen - 37), Hernandez (80). Performance: We played very well but it's a preseason friendly so as I've been telling other people, we shouldn't be getting carried away. We still have a lot of work ahead of us to perfect this new system and we also need to bring in a few more signings. The Spanish teams are 2 weeks behind us in terms of fitness too. Still it's better to win than lose and even Madrid's B team is pretty damn good.
August 3, 201411 yr United fans shouldn't be getting carried away??????, That's a little hard to do when the English media is building LVG's style of play as some tactical revolution. If i was a rag I'd be worried, If there is one thing you don't want to be during the off season that is the team that the media hypes up, When Arsenal bought Sanchez and Debuchy i thought they would be this summers team but the more preseason games United get under their belt, They are this years Tottenham. I still remember listening to talk sport last year when Spurs bought those 6 players in and were on the verge of signing Willian, The host's were saying stuff like 'Forget Spurs finishing in the top 4, I think they can win the title this year what with the managerial merry go round at Chelsea, Utd and City'. The year before that we were hyped up for the title and failed miserably, I remember the sun and daily mail saying stuff like, 'This could be the start of a Manchester City dynasty', You just don't want to be that team that everyone reads about and gets annoyed reading about, It helps teams get that extra bit motivated for you.

I've heard herreras looking a good signing, hows shaw been? im reluctant to admit it but i reckon you guys will be right back into the top four this season, hopefully not at our expense
August 3, 201411 yr Monk at Swansea of course, who feels foolish now, thanks for putting me on the right wave length lads.
August 3, 201411 yr Didn't see the utd game. How did they play? I heard they played well. Did both teams have strong teams out. Seen them twice over here now (Madrid and Roma) and they look pretty good. A lot more confidence and direct. Fletcher looks like a new man. However it is preseason so who knows? They have one more match over here versus Liverpool for the final of this tournament on Monday night.

I've heard herreras looking a good signing, hows shaw been? im reluctant to admit it but i reckon you guys will be right back into the top four this season, hopefully not at our expense The most surprising has been Young who for the last few seasons has been a bit sh*t but who has looked like a new player under LVG. This new position as wing back really seems to suit him. Herrera and Fletcher have been doing very well over the entire course of the preseason, the big question is whether they can do it against PL opposition. The game against Liverpool is certainly going to be interesting. Make no mistakes it won't be a friendly, no not at all. The youngster, Tyler Blackett, has looked very good and may mean we might not need to sign anyone for cover. Shaw has been "meh," so far. He hasn't been great but then he hasn't been terribly either. He looks a bit anxious due to the pressure and needs to grow into the role. LVG apparently also said he's not yet fully fit hence the special training regime. He's had a few good runs though. On another note the the link up play between Rooney, Mata and Welbeck has been great. As for those on the other end of the spectrum; Cleverley has been his usual self and if I were him I'd be seriously concerned. The same goes for Nani and Anderson too if we can manage to find a buyer. Not sure about Fellaini yet; his extended break because of the world cup could save his United career. Never rated young really, the right manager can do wonders for a player but I wouldnt hold my breath I suppose shaws bound to be a little overawed at first, he's only 18. Ive seen a few clips of passing between your attacking players and it looks like yur players are picking up the new style very quickly, think you need to sort out your defence and get a better midfielder in to really challenge though, as a football fan i hope you do, as a liverpool fan i hope you do and we still manage to finish higher than you!

What is your take on Zaha? For me looked like total shyte yesterday. Seems to be taking a page out of Nani's book with crossovers and trying to beat defenders. He had a great opportunity to play a nice ball into Rooney last night and decided to be a Nani and challenge the defender (think it was Pepe?) and just coughed up the ball soon as he crossed into the box. I haven't seen him much this preseason but did witness similar things last season. Just curious if people are beginning to feel he may not be the young star he was touted as? August 4, 201411 yr Hope we've got an open top bus ready just in case we bring home the whatever it's called cup. It's on. Something Guinness International is part of the name. Not sure to be honest. Denver hosted the United/Roma match but tickets were pretty steep and considering I don't like either I didn't care to commit a kings ransom to see maybe 30 minutes of first team squad members and the rest of the match prospects. I believe it sold out the day of the match though and the venue holds about 80k people though. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Scouse scum celebrate like they actually won something meaningful. Probably parade it through Boston so Henry can boast how well of an owner he is. Then of course they will take the trophy to Ground Zero for one last photo op with that mug Aldridge bragging on Twitter how big of a club they are and how Benzema has it all wrong! August 4, 201411 yr Is it just me or does the obsession with size at Liverpool tell us something?? In any other walk of life anyone who talked about themselves like this would be quickly identified as suffering from "small man syndrome" Brendan Rodgers: “I think the sponsors will be delighted because you have two of the biggest clubs in the world coming to Miami,” said Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers. “It is arguably the biggest game in the world and for it to be here in the United States is wonderful for the supporters and the organisers. “It is two cities, not very far apart, who historically have always been huge rivals. We are the two biggest clubs in Britain, two of the biggest in the world, so it will be fantastic.” In contrast here's a quote from Darren Fletcher “It’s Man Utd v Liverpool, I know it’s only pre-season and it’s just a summer competition, but when United play Liverpool, it is always a big deal.” Seems a much more balanced view of the affair.... August 4, 201411 yr Brendan is like every other person who joins the bin raiders...utter warped. Liverpool rely on their history to try and force their way into the 'big club' debate. Facts are they have done next to nothing for years. They have a obsession about being loved and are as attention seeking as a drunk teenager at there first house party.

August 4, 201411 yr Anyone else notice how Liverpool are meant to be Englands biggest club and this summer have had the financial muscle equivalent of Real Madrid, Chelsea and City and have yet not been able to attract a Sanchez, Vidal, Cavani, Reus, Falcao or Benzema type of player. Any Liverpool fan who tells me they heard of Divock Origami before the World Cup is lying and invading Southampton yet supposedly having the best academy in the world, What's up with that? Why go for players like Lallana and Lovren, Surely you have some fine Robbie Fowler type of player coming through? After all you are everything that's right with football and the complete opposite of the financial dopers that are Chelsea and City. The Sanchez deal just baffled me, Here i am constantly being fed how Liverpool has the biggest global support of Premier League sides, Even better than United and yet with financial power and supposed stature they still couldn't attract him? Somethings not right, The conclusion i came to was they are not the biggest club in England, No where near the biggest, They are lower than Arsenal in my opinion in terms of pulling power and stature. Here is my list of English teams with biggest stature, pulling power and winning mentality mindsets from the board level, United at number one, Obviously, We hate them but can't deny their killer mentality when it comes to financial deals and winning trophies and whilst their pulling power may have taken a slight hit they still have a mahussive fan base. Chelsea at number two, I'm not trying to suck up to you lot on here but having seen the amount of Chelsea fans in the U.S. last year during our friendlies, To say you are competing with Liverpool in terms of numbers is an understatement, Throw in the mix your killer mentality when it comes to winning trophies and big name pulling power i.e. Hazard, Shevchenko, Torres. Manchester City at number three, I was going to put Arsenal here but how can a big club or a so called big club do business and marketing the way Arsenal do? They don't have a killer mentality when it comes to winning trophies, They don't have pulling power, If anything they are like the tramp searching through the bins at times, Did you realize that Arsenals biggest transfers prior to Ozil was £16 million? Unbelievable. You could argue that Arsenal fans will say well we don't buy success we earn it, But they didn't earn it because it never came. City have a killer mentality when it comes to winning trophies, Pulling power is very high, Our fanbase is gradually growing and whilst it's less than Arsenals by a long shot, Our other pro's outweigh this con. Arsenal at number four Liverpool at number five, Other than the so called big fan base which United, Chelsea and Arsenal can all compete with, Do they have a killer winning mentality? Nope, Do they having pulling power? Nope, So i'm struggling to see other than their rich history how Liverpool can even get in the top four? I would say if Tottenham won the league in 2/3 years time, Spurs would overtake them in terms of genuine stature as a club because if ancient history meant something Nottingham Forest would still be classed as a big club.
