August 5, 201411 yr Looking at that Man City squad its quite frightening if they can play together Doesn't frighten me one bit, the only players i would take out of their squad is Aguero and Dzeko. Edited August 5, 201411 yr by Scott Harris
August 5, 201411 yr Lincoln had his Sherman, Rafa has Masch! Was one of the replies I read to that delusional post comparing Lincoln to the Fat Spanish Waiter. This was written in 2009! Didn't they both leave after that season? Pathetic!
August 5, 201411 yr Player had to borrow a fan's shirt. Wonder if the fan removed the sponsor's name after the shirt was given back. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28663675 Celso Borges of AIK plays in fan's shirt for Swedish league match Costa Rica international Celso Borges had to borrow a shirt from a fan to play in a Swedish league match for his club AIK. The midfielder had been omitted from the side after he was subject of a transfer bid from French Ligue 1 outfit Evian and his kit had not been packed. Borges then borrowed a shirt from an AIK fan, known only as 'Luis', for the match against IFK Gothenburg. "I'm proud to have helped the team I love," said Luis after AIK's 2-0 win. Borges, who played in all five of Costa Rica's matches at the recent World Cup, joined his AIK team mates after talks between his club and Evian had stalled. Sponsor's logos were hastily sewn onto Borges' shirt, which was returned to the fan after the game. Speaking after the match, which put AIK second in the Sweden's Allsvenskan six points behind leaders Malmo, Borges said: "I can't say if that was the last game because everything's not done. We'll have to see how it goes."

First line would read: "Four score and seven years ago, Liverpool was a great football team."
August 5, 201411 yr Doesn't frighten me one bit, the only players i would take out of their squad is Aguero and Dzeko. OK the word 'frightening' might be an overstatement on my part, but I did say 'if ' they can play together; and adding to your picks I'd also take Kompany, Silva and Toure....
August 5, 201411 yr Man city's team aren't worrying at all. Last season, towards the end of the season they looked poor and I don't think the players they've bought will make much of a difference tbh. Aguero is too injury prone these days, their midfield is above average and their defence isn't strong either; they are still weak at the back.
August 5, 201411 yr OK the word 'frightening' might be an overstatement on my part, but I did say 'if ' they can play together; and adding to your picks I'd also take Kompany, Silva and Toure.... Personally i think Kompany is overrated, i have only seen him have 1 great season. I would actually much rather have JT, Cahill and Ivanovic. I don't think Silva would work under Mourinho, if Mata can't fit into Mourinho's team then i don't see how Silva could. Toure is a prick, i wouldn't go anywhere near him, i don't care how good he is
August 5, 201411 yr There's a rumour going around that Pepe Reina is about to sign for Bayern for £2m: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2717033/Pepe-Reina-edges-closer-Liverpool-exit-Reds-accept-Bayern-Munich.html
August 5, 201411 yr On rawk: (Liverpool beat Man City on penalties) City won the league, but we won the war
August 5, 201411 yr Oh of course, in years to come no-one will care that City won the league but all they'll remember is that Liverpool beat them on penalties in America. Because that is the important match/competition.
August 5, 201411 yr I reckon last season will be toure's best season for a while. He seems to be fed up with city and can see him leaving next summer.
August 5, 201411 yr The crazy think about that beerqueen is they all love it. Poor poor lads they need help the poor fellows over at rawk have always been a gibbering wreck of insanity, im glad they keep all the nutters in one place
August 5, 201411 yr https://twitter.com/RAWK_Meltdown That guy spends his free time looking for the funniest comments from RAWK. I didn't watch their game but I think Liverpool are the most vulnerable in the top 4. They'll be coping with CL football again, which means no more week long breaks between games, and they've lost their best player without adequate replacement. United however will have the same light schedule Liverpool enjoyed last season, plus a manager who isn't a complete clown. aye united dont have a great squad but moyes was really holding them back. I probably agree about us being the most vulnerable, you and city are undoubtedly gona be top 2, arsenal have improved their first 11 while we have weakened ours, although i think we may just have a stronger squad, it'll be an interesting season

No travel to gruelling European away matches in midweek. That's going to make a huge difference for them and give LVG an easier time to establish himself over there. I'd prefer they failed again because it'd really wreck their finances.

I personally think the effects of european football are massively over stated, sure it'll probably have an effect but not a 'huge difference'
August 5, 201411 yr I personally think the effects of european football are massively over stated, sure it'll probably have an effect but not a 'huge difference'Oh I do believe it is pronounced, and the statistics seem to support this notion. Funnily enough Liverpool has suffered the most from this phenomenon in recent seasons.http://5addedminutes.com/2012/09/24/the-europa-league-and-the-thursday-night-effect/ In 215 league matches after Thursday European matches since 2001, teams have scored over 38 points fewer than you’d expect. The effect is particularly pronounced after European away matches, where teams have scored 32 fewer points than expected.Thankfully we've got fans in this sport obsessive enough to figure this sh*t out!

August 6, 201411 yr I think thats a marvelous idea. This one is always my favourite, bearing in mind Swansea actually got 2-0:- “It is great for the public here at Sunderland to see us,” said manager Brendan Rodgers. “They must have been wondering what this team everyone is talking about are all about and now they have seen. We were wonderful. “Our intention is always to pass teams to a standstill, but give credit to Sunderland, they defended ever so well when other teams might have wilted. “I suppose when you pay that kind of money for Sessegnon and Gardner, £7m and £5m, they will come up with those moments of real quality. “Our objective at the start of this season was to stay in the league but I believe we can finish in the top 10. Of course, it is all about getting results but I still thought we were brilliant.”
August 6, 201411 yr This is quite funny too. Poor Liverpool. http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/aldo-slams-real-madrid-striker-benzema-over-liverpool-swipe-4034235 Edited August 6, 201411 yr by enigma
