Another Brilliant Decision by the board.  :face_palm:

Its comments like this that I don't understand.

First and foremost, it's obvious that he's not in the managers initial plans.

Clearly the club see his potential and are not willing to sell just yet and are receiving a small loan fee for the player to progress elsewhere.

Like what should the board do, to turn your sarcasm into genuine praise?

Lets look at the facts.

Ake was loaned out to Bournemouth on 29th June 2016.

Italy got knocked out of the euros on 3rd July 2016.

So you are telling me that Conte had already made up his mind on ake. This loan looks like it had NOTHING to do with "manager's plans". It seems like a Board decision. I am sure Conte would have taken Ake to pre-season and then decided his fate like he did with Baba. I am using words like "looks", "seems" instead of your "obvious". Since neither the board or Conte personally called me up, but considering the fact that Ake left on loan before Conte physically took charge of the club, i find it atrocious to think that "its obvious that he's not in the manager's initial plans"

And hence the comment. It was a foolish decision by the board to loan out Ake and now we have had to buy marcos alonso for 23mil who barely seems any better.

I have read some of the things that you have posted in the other thread and honestly feel its just OTT rambling on another fan wanting to gain the moral high ground.

We made a mistake with this loan, we had to loan him to a team that will play him regularly. If Bournemouth aren't planning on him, we should bring him back and use him or loan to a PL team will play him.

And Conte was appointed as manager in April?

Ok, it'll be fair to say that had Ake had a few pre-season training sessions, Conte may have included him but lets be honest, going by past trends, this is very unlikely. I'm sure Conte knew about Ake and knew he was going on loan. If he really wanted to trial him I would imagine the board would've given him the opportunity at least.

Believe me I'm not trying to gain any moral high ground. I am not Mr positivity. I'm just sick and tired of all this blame and flak the board and in paticular Emanalo are getting. Lets be honest, they all want whats best for the club and none are interested in milking the fans like Arsenal or Villa. It just makes us look spoilt to think we have every god given right to sign who we want.

It was also painful reading last season with those blaming the board for Jose's downfall which was so far from the truth but thats another topic.

I just want to enjoy the season or at least try to without fans looking for a scapegoat all the time.

Aina is a part of our squad. He got some chances at RB/LB. I am sure Conte or anyone else cant rate ake ahead of aina.

I also doubt if Conte had much of a say in Ake's decision. For him to have the say, he must have watched him and assessed him but I am sure he had his hands more than full with the NT.

Again, I am not sure and neither are you. And both of us have reason to be so.

The board would obviously push a 21 million Baba on Conte rather than Ake to make that price count. Similarly I dont think Conte had anything to do with Baker's Loan. I honestly cant accept that Conte would have "wanted" Baba and yet Ake was loaned. I honestly feel it was a Board decision and I have explained why I think so.

So to demean someone on their opinion/or being sarcastic about it, is just not right.

I just read a rumor that Ake will be recalled from bournemouth

Not surprised if true. He has not started a league game, is just rotting every week as an unused substitute and that is a real shame considering how he cemented the LB spot at Watford last season and the following season he is not playing at all. Really talented too so hopefully January gets him a decent move or maybe even challenge for a spot here.

Our loans to other Premier League teams never seem to work out.

our loan of Sturridge worked out well w/ Bolton - IMHO Lukaku wasn't that shabby either - sometimes these loans gives the club options for retaining or selling players

I wonder if the story about him being recalled was leaked to put pressure on howe to play him today with there being a couple defenders injured.

Whatever the case, im pleased for him. hopefully he can keep his place.

Who is watching the Arsenal and Bournemouth game? He has been sensational. Playing as a CB, he has dealt with everything Arsenal have thrown at him. His style is so similar to Luiz. A bit of pace, great technical ability and vision and both great ball playing defenders. Like Luiz, you see the best of Ake when they have got cover from two additional CB. The skysports pundits have not stopped in their praise for him and more than deserved. Makes you wonder what the hell it took Howe so long to only hand Ake his starting debut for Bournemouth from last week. His qualities are evident to see.

Bournemouth conceded 3 goals but I thought Ake was superb against Arsenal. A couple of key blocks, very composed on the ball and some decent balls forward. Fully deserved the plaudits that he received.

You got to give Ake credit. When he was on loan at Watford, he did not even get in the team/squad first few games then earned his place in the team.  Same with Bournemouth. Has had to wait a long while but fair play, has kept plugging at opportunity. Got his chance last week, scored and kept clean sheet and put in another brilliant performance today despite 3-1 loss and really pleased to see pundits consistently praise his performance.

Would love to see Ake back next season. He wouldn't play week in week out but would be a great squad player with the likes of Mikel, JT and Ivan not being around anymore and could cover a number of positions. Thought he played well today despite the end result.

He had a great game against the arses despite the final score. He should be getting back next season and getting minutes. However, if Christensen is also back, how are we going to play them? With Zouma back, Cahill, Luiz and Azpilicueta doing a great job, I am not sure how much these two players will be getting minutes.

Competition for the lwb role next season?

I would say cb but we're already looking at Zouma and Christenson being in contention next year.

Promising times for the future of the team though.

Always liked Ake, great talent.

We'll have great defensive depth in theory next year, apart from maybe RWB:

RWB: Moses,Aina?

CB: Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill, Zouma, Christensen

LWB: Alonso, Ake, Rahman

I'm assuming Terry and Ivanovic will both be released come the summer, although Terry staying on as a coach is very plausible if he is content to hang it up. In hindsight, I think Ramires could have done a good job as an RWB, guy has the most stamina of any player I've ever seen for us.

Dont think Baba has a place with us any longer. With alonso and ake, he is redundant. Ake would be more than a decent back up to alonso.

What worries me is Moses. The quality football he is currently playing, would be hard to replace with a natural defender like azpi/aina. If kenedy was right footed, he would have been a good back up.

I'd pick Baba over Alonso

Thats more than a bit harsh on Alonso.

He has been good defensively and average in attack. If he can improve his right foot and actually convert those chances that keep falling to him, i feel he would be great for us. Also this is his first season in PL and he has fit right in. Baba had more than his share of problems with the physicality of PL.
