Transfers Summer 2015

To be honest I think Lamela has been pretty good this season. Last year he did nothing but then had next to no opportunities. It's probably worth bearing in mind that he's only just turned 23 as well so there's plenty of room for him to improve.

He has qualities of Aguero, but he's too lightweight no? But so is Aguero.

Aguero is very strong for a little guy. Dybala may find it harder to deal with the physical nature of the EPL where referees are more lenient when it comes to that side of the game. Still wouldn't mind taking a gamble on him, looks like a special kind of talent.

Reckon Khedira might end up here or at Arsenal since he has declared that he is leaving Madrid at the end of the season. Would slot in nicely alongside Matic when FIT, and would allow us to move Fabregas to his preferred No 10 role. What this would mean Oscar is unknown; personally I would shift him to the right (always felt he was better there and lacks the vision and quick thinking to play close to a 9), however I won't be surprised to see us sell him to PSG as I reckon it is either him or Di Maria they would be after (with the latter proving too expensive).

Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer has claimed that Sami Khedira has lost the qualities that made him a top player.

The midfielder is widely expected to leave Real Madrid when his contract expires in the summer, despite forcing his way back into the plans of coach Carlo Ancelotti after suffering a knee injury.

However, Beckenbauer believes that the injury might have had an effect on the Germany international's abilities.

"In his current physical shape Khedira would not help any team forward," Beckenbauer told Sky Deutschland.

"He is missing something in each aspect of the game at the moment. His ability to keep on running in midfield was key to his game. He does not add much without that."

Khedira has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Schalke 04.

Harsh words but maybe they ring true.

Many midfielders who suffer bad knee injuries lose that ‘spark’ that made them so good pre injury and we have our own example in Essien.

I’m always worried bringing in players who have suffered a bad injury like that but others recover from them pretty well so it’s no open and shut case.

Haha, sounds like one for AC Milan!

Hows his contract situation?

I'd imagine if he has a few years left he'd cost a fortune.

Interestingly it expires at the end of next season. There has also been speculation that he is delaying on current negotiations on a new contract, as Dortmund are loathe to allow another player to leave on a free transfer (like Lewandowski), but supposedly Arsenal and Man Utd are sniffing around.

I didn't realise he was only 24 either, he would be an excellent signing and with Dortmund's current woes might be open to the idea of a transfer.

Perhaps Dortmund will be looking to cash in this summer - Gundogan would cost considerably less than Schneiderlin though the advantage Schneiderlin has over Gundogan is a few years of proven domestic experience in the double pivot - for me i'd like to see us go for either of them (preferably Schneiderlin) but only if Pogba is out of our reach.

Having watched a bit of RM this season I'd agree Khedira isn't the same, but if we're looking for a squad player perhaps worth a gamble.

Are you sure about that? I'd say, Gundogan is a bigger name of the two. Also, Schneiderlin openly wants out and wanted to leave last summer, too.

Plus, I'm a bit worried about Gundogan's injury history.

Are you sure about that?

As Plokoon alludes to my somewhat presumptuous statement was made on the basis Dortmund may be open to a transfer given his contract expires next summer (so there may be an opportunity to sign him for less than his true market value).

I wish we could do this:

Out: Mikel £10mil, Ramires £20mil, Oscar £30mil-£35mil, Moses £5mil

IN: Pogba £50mil-£60mil, Varane £30mil-£40mil, Verratti £30mil-£35mil

It would cost us £50mil-£70mil next season, but in return we wouldn't have to do much in the next windows.

4-3-3:

Courtois/Cech

Azpilicueta/Iva-----Varane/Cahill-----Terry/Zouma-----F.Luis

-------Pogba/L,Cheek-----Matic--------Veratti/Fabregas------

Willian/Cuadrado--------Costa/Remy/Bamford----------Hazard

I'd like to see this midfield get overrun :P

Verrati, Pogba and Matic? That's an overkill by a mile.

Don't forget Fabregas to rotate with those three :) I think relying on Matic to battle 2-3 midfielders around him with little support from Fabregas is asking for trouble.

Am I right in thinking Schniederlin would count as home grown? Probably not with these new rules coming into play but if he is might be worth a punt as he is quality anyway.

Before these new rules yes he would
