Transfers Summer 2015

Should we sign Di Maria? Looking to leave United apparently. If we could get him under 25mil it'd be a very good deal. Perfect for the right wing combining with Hazard and Cesc. He's already played for Jose too.

Although I can see him going to PSG in the summer.

A 35 million plus loss after 1 season? I will say the same thing I said when we were linked with Rooney, United simply don't sell quality players to their domestic rivals.

25m pounds? What are you smoking bro?

Di Maria and Jose fell out apparently. I do think we'd use him more effectively than Utd have though. I still believe Bale would be a better option for us and more achievable.

The Tele are reporting we have a bit of an FFP bonus of around 40m to spend too.

With the likes of Pogba, Bale, Isco being either unrealistic or overpriced, I would take a look at Arturo Vidal. Anything less than 30m would be a good deal for a player who used to be talked about as one of the best midfielders in the world just last summer. Still only 27 too.

Matic - Vidal - Fabregas gives us one of the best midfields in the world and makes us much more solid without compensating on the creativity. Fabregas would have that roaming playmaker role that he was so good at with Arsenal.

Did he not suffer a bad injury last year before the World Cup? How has bhe been since?

Struggled a bit when he returned but it looks like he's getting back to his best.

Matic and Fabregas are great but I think we miss that drive from midfield that Essien used to give us, or that Ramires does when he's playing well. Vidal would be like Essien mk II.

I agree, we could play a 4-3-3. Matic, fabregas and vidal midfield would have everything.

Judging by his performance last night he is still as brilliant as ever and would definitely fill a hole in our midfield which we haven't really been able to fill since Essien's last injury.

However, with all the rumours linking Pogba with a move away, I can't imagine Juventus being particularly comfortable with Vidal even considering leaving.

Pogba would be the expensive option that would solve the same problem for us. Vidal seemed all set for a move last summer though and even the Juventus CEO has said that his injury problems were what stopped a move to Man Utd.

Thank God, he is exactly what Man Utd need in midfield!

No signing Messi would be a huge gamble but I think odds are highly against it. He would be very marketable, sales would go off the roof but would he produce in this Maurinho's team? And would it makes sense to throw this amount of money for someone who is probably sliding down the hill.

I would like to see Bas Dost replace Drogba.

Can see Walcott ending up at City eventually. Well, isn't that usually what an Arsenal player does when he wants to leave?

Looking at their depth in attacking midfield though,

Ozil (Welbeck) - Cazorla (Ox) - Sanchez (Walcott) and then they have the likes of Rosicky and Gnabry.

We used to talk about our AMs being the strongest in the league, but we are well short of the quality in depth compared to that. Surely it's something that we'll look to address in the summer.

We are short of depth because we've sold the good ones and retained the shag ones. KDB, Mata were very very good, but yet we retained Willian and Oscar who are good but not at their level imo.

Salah as well was hard done by, got hardly any chances to prove him self, look now whats happening? He's thriving, so is KDB.

I'm a huge fan of kdb. But Oscar and him don't have the same playing style though. Kdb doesn't do the things Oscars does, he doesn't run and chase as much. Having said that, Oscar doesn't do the things kdb does either.

If it were up to me I would have tried to get kdb in the starting 11 instead of Oscar, but maybe that's why I'm sitting on the couch watching the tellie with a bag of chips and Mourinho is having trouble finding a place to store his trophies.

Great post. Your self awareness should be adopted by some. Wouldn't we just love to have Jose's dilemmas.

Top post! Too many Football Manager self proclaimed experts out there today....

Theo Wallcott anyone?

In the unlikely event that Arsenal were open to selling him, yes. Always rated Walcott.

Our medical department is much better than Arsenal's so I think we could manage his fitness better.

I'd rather have Ox than Walcott. Much better player, younger, and has room for growth.

Chamberlain much better than Walcott ? No chance.

Before his injury, Walcott was a 20 goals a season player and was getting a lot of assists too. Chamberlain can barely score a goal or assist. The guy is quick and has strength, but other than that he doesn't have much else.

I also don't think age is all that important here either. Walcott has only just turned 26, if he stays fit throughout his peak years he could have a good 7 or 8 years of football in him.
