Verratti has 2 red cards in the past 3 seasons, between 12-16 yellow cards in each of those seasons. Not a lot for a combative midfielder, Ramires got 17 last season. 

I'd buy Valencias captain Daniel Parejo (£15mil-£20mil) and Monacos Kondogbia (£20mil-£25mil). Sell Mikel and Ramires (£20mil-£30mil). That should strengthen our central midfield options alot and we would have enough money to spend on a central defender and backup striker as well, if needed.

Some expensive names been thrown around, to be honest I don't see Reus moving unless BvB get a mega offer. He has no release clause and seems loyal to the cause. Juve seem to be adamant that Pogba is a €100m but I can see Koke moving this summer. Varane?! Why wud RM sell?

I have a few friends who are Madrid Fans. They were telling me that their favorite player in the team was Carvahal because he's an absolute beast (their words not mine). They said with Pepe signing a new deal that they didn't mind if Varane left.

to be fair, madrid could replace varane with one of the other prospects out there in a few years, such as marquinos or that other lad from the spanish league (can't remember his name). i haven't seen enough of varane to say whether he's quality enough, but he certainly has been getting a lot of hype. It does make me wonder whether it would be better to go for someone cheaper with just as much potential, but jose seems to be set on varane, so unfortunately we'll probably end up offering upwards of 30+ million for him in the summer.

Yes, but that guy is a foul magnet, just watch him regularly. He'd pick yellow card every other game here, he's that dirty. Not denying the fact he's a brilliant player but referees or FA already hates us like anything and getting a player like him will be the final nail in the coffin.

The same was said about Costa.

And truthfully I think Ramires is awful for picking up cards himself but he's just clumsy rather than tenacious like Veratti.

If we're looking to build a team capable of a high press and quick distribution I think Veratti would be a good addition to the squad.

Not saying it will or should happen but I think he's the sort if player we lack personally.

We definitely need a good CM/CDM. Matic and Cesc pivot is good but it can easily get overrun against big teams. Ramires is shag, Mikel is not upto the standards. 

 

Schnidierlin is good FWIW and could be cheap. Pogba and Verraiti are hugely unlikely. Koke I can't see us signing him. Who else is left?

 

For strikers there a couple of talents like Lacazatte, Icardi, Dybala, Firmino etc.

 

Defender should be our top priority. I hope we can get Varane.. Laporte is good as well but he'll be expensive as well.

Not sure who'd sign Willian but I can imagine Ramires going to an Italian team and Mikel ending up in Turkey, although Ramires might be a decent fit for Stoke.

 

Real have a habit of selling players you would've expect. They did it with Maka and Di Maria was a key player for them last season. Unlikely but I'd throw £40 million at them to test them.

 

Pogba I think people need to get over. Would much rather a value purchase like Khedira and bring through Loftus-Cheek.

 

Fact is we do have assets we can sell, like Cech who costs way too much as a back-up. We have money to spend, we should spend it.

I wish people could get it out of there heads that we aren't going to put faith into your youth team. Loftus Cheek and Ake will not be starting any time soon, it's a sad state of affairs but better just get used to it. They are going to be sold eventually.

 

I think the main thing we should be looking for in the summer is midfielders. Kondogbia and Imbula are targets we should look into, I haven't seen Parejo play but heard good stuff about him.

 

Verratti is not going to go cheaply, so you should get it out of your head really, he is staying at Paris for now, PSG captured him early, I doubt we've got a chance of getting him on the cheap.

Verratti would be an excellent signing, but it won't happen. PSG are building to be on a par with the world's elite, they're not going to offload key players.

 

We've missed Mikel in all honesty. For all the criticism he gets (a lot of it reasonable), he's a very big player when it comes to holding leads and shutting out games. 

 

If we manage to secure the league, I hope to see Loftus Cheek given an opportunity in the middle. 

 

For all the money we've thrown at attacking midfielders recently, it's that area of the pitch that most evidently needs strengthening in my opinion.

If Ramires leaves, maybe Sissokho on the cheap. Add some legs and physicality. Obviously not top drawer, but I wouldn't be too unhappy with him in midfield.

I think we can get alot more for those players that I've highlighted, Ramires would go for £20mil+ without a problem, as an example. That central midfield that you have setup I think is extremly thin and would be a downgrade from Mikel and Ramires. I'd rather we replaced them with players that would challange both Fabregas/Matic for a starting spot and would allow us to play 3 quality central midfielders when we need to control midfield.

I haven't been that impressed with Song in the 5 matches I've seen West Ham play. He makes to many mistakes for me in dangerous positions infront of his own defence, in one match I counted 4 times where the oposition had big chances from him loosing possession.

Need a creative player as well. Oscar, Willian are absolute shag in terms of creativity. If Hazard and Cesc are off song, Costa won't be scoring and we'll struggle to break deadlocks... that's what been happening since February. Cesc is too much vital in our creative play. Need someone to reduce that burden on those 2.

£7.5m for Mikel? No chance; you are more likely to get more for Moses.
