Chelsea vs PSG (Champions League Second Leg) 11/03/2015

Featured Replies

Matic is back so  I expect him to come straight back in to the team. I believe Cahill should start before Zouma since hes been great the past two games and he's got the experience at this stage.

                  Courtois

Ivanovic-Cahill-Terry-Azpilicueta

             Fabregas-Matic

      Cuadrado-Willian-Hazard

                    Costa

i hate being home for the 2nd leg, the away goal becomes so much more deadly

Really?  It's far better in my opinion to be home for the second leg - you know what you have to do.  And you have the added bonus of having a positive result to celebrate with any luck.  If you play away second, fewer fans have the chance to celebrate live!  PSG at home last year was one of the best matches I've been to.

What I'd like to see.

Courtois

Ivan - Cahill - Terry - Dave

Fabregas - Matic

Willian - Oscar - Hazard

Costa

What I think we'll see:

            Courtois

Ivan - Cahill - Terry - Dave

              Matic

    Fabregas - Ramires

Wiliian                       Hazard

                Costa

PSG need to come at us because of the away goal so I expect us to sit deep and compact and looking to counter which will mean getting the ball to Hazard and Costa quick and early.

Expect a low percentage of possession and lots of long balls played from deep by the defense cross field to Costa and Hazard.

its when its 0- 0 or 1-1 with 15 minutes to go and the away team nab a deadly away goal, that is what i mean

                Costa

I'll be shocked if it isn't this.

Only possible change is if Cech comes back in.

There's no reason to describe how important this game is.

I'd like to see this XI:

Courtois

Ivanovic

Cahill

Terry

Azpi

Matic (I hope he's fit)

Fabregas

Cuadrado

Willian

Hazard

Costa

*Zouma was great always when he played, but I'd give the spot to Cahill due to experience.

*Oscar is in poor form at the moment, to start against PSG won't change him.

*Ramires was great against West Ham, I also think Jose will start him, but Matic is back so I don't really think he's needed in the central again.

No way Cuadrado will start this, shocked so many seem to think he will be starting.

Newest signing so flavour of the month for some, despite the fact that to date he's shown nothing to suggest he should be starting.... Especially a key Champions League tie.

Hola chicos! Our annual trip to Stamford Bridge is getting closer!

Chelsea is off this week-end but we play Lens tomorrow, that shouldn't be an issue, and there is quite some time to recover till wednesday.

I think you can expect David Luiz again as midfield next week.

We might capture the 3 domestic titles this season, but you know, knocking out Chelsea at the Bridge, specially after last year, would overcome anything else. For now.

I'm afraid another 90 minutes of sweat ...

I think we're still waiting for Eden and Zlatan (it's time ...) to make an impact in Champions League.

I personally scare Eden, Ivanovic, and Courtois, of course! Thiago Silva should be able to handle Costa.

The key player on our side could be Pastore, if he starts. He was awesome against Barca at home. He could change the game.

Let's see what happens next week.

Still time ahead to wish good luck ...

-------------------------------------Courtios--------------------------------------

--------Ivanovic------------Cahill--------------Terry-----------Azpilicueta----

------------------------Ramires---Matic------Fabregas------------------------

---------------Willian-------------------------------------Hazard-----------------

-------------------------------------Costa------------------------------------------ Can see us going with this, good amount of rest time for this one, hopefull for a good result UTC!

----------------------Tibo

Ivan---------Cahill-------Terry-------Dave

--------------Zouma-----Matic

-----------------------Fabergas

Willian--------------------------------Hazard

---------------------Costa

My guess is that Jose will keep it really tight and aim to score from dead ball play, give Willian and Hazard specific instructions to try and win as many free kicks/corners in the PSG third, then we can flood the box with Cesc taking the free kicks and Ivan, Cahill, Terry, Zouma, Matic and Costa providing the aerial threat.

as psg need to score i imagine chelsea will sit back and try to hit them on the break, i wonder if jose might surprise us and hit them hard for an early goal? it will be much more comfortable then sitting back rather than it being nil nil in the second half

I have a feeling that sitting back this game will cost us.

Last season we needed to score the goals so we had no other choice, this year we have a choice. Not sure what our plans are but I really hope we go at them.

I honestly think Zouma in midfield is for emergencies only

It should be.

We won't win a midfield battle with a defender playing there. If anything it would be Mikel who must be close to a return now.
