My guess is that Jose will keep it really tight and aim to score from dead ball play, give Willian and Hazard specific instructions to try and win as many free kicks/corners in the PSG third, then we can flood the box with Cesc taking the free kicks and Ivan, Cahill, Terry, Zouma, Matic and Costa providing the aerial threat.

I am not 100% behind this tactical formation, but Ibra & Cavani present a far greater challenge to CFC than Kane & Ericksen. Maybe this might work & if PSG score, then bring in Oscar & attack because the tie will change. A 0-0 bore draw will see CFC through & I am a huge Boring Boring Chelsea fan. As long as CFC don't give up 2 goals than it's all good in da hood.

Mikel who must be close to a return now.

Mikel just had surgery on his knee. He will be out at least a month

I have a feeling that sitting back this game will cost us.

Last season we needed to score the goals so we had no other choice, this year we have a choice. Not sure what our plans are but I really hope we go at them.

Much like Atletico, we scored then tried to defend it...just couldn't do it.

We know PSG will have to get a goal so they will press us, I assume Jose will set us out to counter them while remaining solid and tough to break down.

This will be tense, PSG can score at anytime with the quality they have so I'm expecting another nail biter like last season.

One thing to note, David Luiz was getting way too comfortable with our players--as in playing to rough and unnecessary. I know the guy wears his heart on his sleeve and all but referee let him get away with a lot, although I thought the referee that night was lenient with both teams. He got away with several aggressive and unnecessary challenges. He might play in midfield as well so we need to find a way to subdue him.

In addition, I read it somewhere else that PSG won almost all aerial challenges. A pretty damning statistic when you consider the big guys we've got in the team while PSG have a 5'4 Veratti. I couldn't recall a single aerial challenge Costa won against Luiz.

Also think the match will be won in midfield,

-------David Luiz-------

---Matuidi----Veratti----

And I think this is how PSG will set up. Motta will probably start for the weekend but he might not be fit enough to play against us. Matuidi is also pretty underrated for the work he does for their team, he covers a lot of ground, we need to keep him busy.

I had a dream about this game the other day, we were 3-0 down by half time... :laugh2:

That's so weird. I had a dream (nightmare!) we lost 3-1

Edit: I also had a crazy dream we lost 7-4 in the league cup final to Spurs, thank heavens we came through for the W.

Sorry guys but if José goes all defensive for this one then were out it might work against the likes of spuds'n'spams but psg are different class....has usuall i hope iam wrong

Really hope we don't play zouma in midfield. It would immediately concede possession to psg and invite them to attack.

let's give them something to worry about and put them on the back foot. We are chelsea, we're at home home so I'm hoping we can control large parts of the game without over committing.

Courtois

Ivan zouma Terry Azpi

Matic fabregas

Willian oscar hazard

Costa

2-0. The same game like Galatasaray last year.

Courtois, Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry, Dave, Matic, Fabregas, Ramires(right wing), Willian, Hazard, Diego.

Oscar doesn't deserve his place on the pitch.

This PSG side is by far the best team we've come up against this season. Don't believe there's a 'weak link' to explot, although I don't believe we have one either.

Fancy Jose to have a very thorough game plan prepared and tested with the free weekend. There'll be something different about the lineup that the majority won't expect, and there's bound to be a couple of new set piece routines tested.

Hopefully the fouls on Hazard are actually punished in this one. And at least one more attacking player plays to their potential.

We sure as hell won't do it the easy way, but I think we'll get there. Bring on Wednesday!

I quite like PSG and their players apart from that Verrati, seems like an absolute pratt.

Anyway, hopefully Matic recovers from celebrating in a cup final, an injury of which could only happen to us. We have more than enough quality to win this, and it's crucial that Costa gets a goal, he's been off the pace lately but it's understandable after you've had a few injuries and been banned for three games.

They have 2 weakness's van der valk and sideshow bob!

Why do so many people have it in there heads that Zouma might play? He obviously isn't, the only reason he played was because we had no other midfielders and evidently Jose doesn't put too much faith into our youth players such as Ake and Loftus Cheek.

It will most likely be the usual, Fabregas and Matic in midfield, if not then Oscar would have been dropped so Ramires and Matic but I can't see Jose going for Ramires in the two man midfield again, I don't think he has ever performed well there in the system.

I think zouma has a shout for starting next to Terry. He played ahead of cahill at home to city and liverpool. Cahill has looked like he is getting back to form but I think it's 50/50 who plays next to jt.

I'll be surprised if he's picked ahead of a fully fit Cahill, we need our best team for this game and Cahill is part of that.
