Jordan Henderson

Considering how much flak Ramires gets i'm surprised that so many people want another player that runs around a lot and occasionally scores a nice goal.

He's better and younger than Ramires though. For a start, he can control and pass a football and has pretty good technique. It's a silly rumour in any case, but he's a good player.

Must be his agent kicking up a sh1storm, is that the same guy that managing Sterling ?  He's deadset their next captain, will pay whatever he asks, the Chelsea talk is just a bit of fuel in the flame. Maybe we will snatch him for free after he runs out his contract, full England International on our bench, good time ahead!

He's a jumped up little prick, watching him try and play the hardman is hilarious. He has blatantly bought right into whatever that bellend Rodgers has told him.

pretty good technique? so as in, solid technician, but a level below those of hazard, fabregas ETC

frank lampard had 'pretty good technique'

so did michael ballack...michael essien too.

i'd say all 3 of the aforementioned were another level beyond henderson in that regard

it'd be a nightmare seeing him line up in midfield for us against another big side, he'd sh*t himself with the ball ramires style, and even more. he has the technique of your average meddling player for a club like palace or sunderland and little to no invention with the ball. he is not chelsea standard at all. he'd be just another body in midfield ready to run around like a headless chicken

I would love this deal to happen ........more for the fact it proves the massive decline of Liverpool and shows they are just about a top 6 club unable to hold on to their best players ... RAWK would just be the funniest site to visit all summer ............

Let me get this right,

Level above 'pretty good' - Hazard, Fabregas

'Pretty good' technique - Lampard, Essien, Ballack

Level below 'pretty good' - Henderson

Have I got it now?

Henderson is not a bad player by any means. He has improved significantly since his disaster of a first season at Liverpool and has grown into one of their better players. The fact that he is being groomed as a successor to Gerrard as their captain after initially playing so poorly and being so widely denigrated by their own fanbase speaks volumes about his progress. That also tells me that this isn't a serious rumour, but merely a means for his agent to try and secure him a new, long-term contract, as his current one expires in summer 2016.

Regardless, I'm not sure I'd want us to sign him. He's become a decent all-round player but I'm not sure he would necessarily give us anything that Milner wouldn't, for less money. As much as it would be hilarious to embarrass Liverpool, I wouldn't really want to go fifteen rounds with them and pay massively over the odds for someone, while decent, isn't quite the finished article, when we could get Milner far more easily or indeed just hang onto Ramires.

(Although I would agree that Henderson's technique is now 'pretty good')

Jordan Henderson is the same age as Eden Hazard though, okay 6 months older. He may well be England's best midfielder, although that's not saying much. Perhaps he wants to play for the best club in England. Sterling not wanting to sign a new contract there is not really a great boost for him either.

I think you've been watching the wrong Henderson.

i disagree, i think i accurately described the sought of player he is after watching him play plenty of times

if we're going to spend decent money on a player fee wise or in wages(or both) he should be an improvement on what we already have

if henderson wants to come here and sit on our bench he's more than welcome to. but to actually start in midfield for us? just reeks of mediocrity. if we're going to get rid of ramires and look for a replacement that is better than him, why would we be interested in signing an english version of him that is only a slight improvement over ramires on the ball and not even as good as ramires off it?

we probably will struggle to find a player anywhere on the planet that can match ramires' cardiovascular abilities but at least try to aim a little higher in terms of searching for a player that has better technical ability.

the fact is, he is barely an improvement on ramires, if at all...and is nowhere near the likes of lampard or ballack who people seem to like to compare him with yet some of you think he should be starting in our midfield? laughable

Soo true. He'll be a MASSIVE downgrade to Oscar and hardly any improvement on Ramires.

I think he's massively improved this year, but still not good enough to displace either Matic or Fabregas and not what we need if we were to go to a 433. He's Liverpool's next captain anyway so this whole point is moot.

He's an improved player and would be an upgrade on Ramires but he would never get ahead of Matic or Fabregas, they are in a totally different league than him. Plus he is English and would cost a fortune. We already have an English player with the potential to be far better than Henderson in my opinion.

Loftus Cheek?

I must admit I'm rather excited to see the boy in action for us.

Can't remember a young player recieving this much praise from management and support as this lad.

Obviously you can only take what you see on video with a pinch of salt but he does look pretty classy!
