May 29, 201511 yr He's won as expected. Hopefully he won't be so smug when those arrested start squealing.
May 29, 201511 yr So the key points to Sepptic's victory speech were expanding beach football, getting better representation for Oceania on the executive committee and some mumbo jumbo about Women's football (that one isn't the worst thing I suppose). Nonetheless, you literally couldn't make it up.
May 29, 201511 yr Luís Figo ?@LuisFigo 18m18 minutes ago Today, FIFA has lost, but above everything, football has lost and everyone who truly cares about it has lost too http://on.fb.me/1BuELXx
May 29, 201511 yr Paddy Power ?@paddypower 59m59 minutes ago Prince Ali pulls out. If only Blatter's Dad had done the same.
May 29, 201511 yr His victory speech said it all for me. This is a man not in touch with reality. Never thought I would hear myself saying this but come on Platini you are the only one in a position to save us now.

Never thought I would hear myself saying this but come on Platini you are the only one in a position to save us now. He has created a pyramid of corruption at the top of world football, with himself perched on the top. The people below him in the pyramid have had years of wealth thrown at them, many officials from poor third world countries, now they are all used to the luxury life style, so it's easy for Blatter to rely on these people when the time comes, no matter how much sh*t he takes Fifa through, they will keep voting him back in. May 30, 201511 yr He obviously knows the day he leaves Fifa his lies will be exposed, he has too much power at the moment for anyone to take on. He will do anything to stay.
May 30, 201511 yr Sepp Blatter threatens to take World Cup place away from Uefa teams Honestly, I don't know why UEFA don't just withdraw from FIFA. They have a lot of the top international sides, most of the biggest clubs, the enormous cash cow that is the Champions League, and the Euros are a better tournament anyway.
May 30, 201511 yr “You can’t just ask people to behave ethically just like that.” Actually Sepp, you're the boss so yes you can. Unless, that is, you're on the take yourself, or the corruption is so widespread and deep-seated that attempting to stamp it out will be detrimental to your own position. Also, that statement sounds a lot like an admission of guilt to me.

EUFA should announce their intention to hold a Worlds Football Competition in place of the World Cup and send an open invite to all FA's globally. The little tin pot countries might be able to keep sepp in power with their numbers, and because of the kick backs he gives them, but I think all the major commercial football power countries would drop FIFA's world cup knowing without the UEFA group the competition is a glorified confederates cup at best. I also think sponsors would force Sepp out if UEFA even just took that as a firm position and not this "oh maybe" puss footing
May 30, 201511 yr Anyone see this story? http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/28/luis-suarez-uruguay-players-union-annul-biting-ban-fifa “We have no proof that this [sanction] was made within the framework of illegal actions but nothing guarantees us that it wasn’t.“ Comical.
May 31, 201511 yr Makes you wonder what UEFA's next move is going to be. They have a huge trump card in the form of the top nations in the World Cup, minus Brazil and Argentina, are all European-based. If UEFA orchestrated a coup involving the FA's of England, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Serbia, and the Netherlands they could totally force FIFA's hand and oust Septic Blatter. If those aforementioned nations pulled out of the 2018 and 2022 competitions and formed their own continental competition with guest nations (Brazil, Argentina, Australia etc), sort of like the Euros but with increased scale then corporate sponsors would drop the poisonous brand of FIFA and the entire house of cards would collapse. We, as Chelsea fans, have had our umbrages with UEFA in the past but this is bigger than us. We should get behind UEFA without reservation in this hour.
May 31, 201511 yr Spain and France as well as around 1/3 of UEFA nations voted for Blatter. Corruption has no borders.
