It's never really been a problem until recently.  I'm usually glad that people can contribute fully to all the forum, as you say it's more accessible.  WUMs quickly get banned and rarely bother coming back.

Interestingly each time I've 'ignored'said soul is banned.

Looks like Delph is going to City after all.

Maybe he saw the takeover collapse, then Benteke get sold and thought to himself 'I'm off'.

Villa are in for a long season again if they both leave.

Not holding my breath just yet but I think we might be able to hold on to De Gea for another season.

Wouldn't be that nice to lose both keepers in one window especually when the otee was your best player...

I give you Fabian Delph last week : https://vine.co/v/erTDKreOzgQ

Nothing wrong with moving to a new team for more money at all.

Unless of course you take the moral high ground a week earlier declaring how amazingly loyal you are and how much you love the club.

Twat.

He deserves to be mercilessly mocked for that. Like Adam said, no problem with a player moving up, but announcing you're staying at your relegation-avoiding team from your high horse one week and abandoning them the next is something else.

I wonder if he planned it all out, i.e telling the world he's staying so Man City offer him a better contract?

Either way, he's a piece of work.

Don't you lose him on a free next season?

If so, and you keep him this season, Utd really are flaunting their wealth under Van Gaal.

You could get good money for him this summer, big, big money.

Keeping him with one year left (if that's what it is) would be pretty staggering.

I;d hoped we'd seen the last of Gerrard finally, but apparently it's going to be like Beckham was, with BBC sport treating his every goal as a major news story.

Hi there "fellows"... I'm yet another one of those United-fans you love so much.

Been reading redcafe for many years and have had lots of laughs in the threads "rawk" and "bluemoon". Someone mentioned this forum to be a place where the delusion and bitterness might be a bit lower. I've not checked every thread, but it seems that you actually seem to be a bit more sane so far ;)

I've not seen any mentions of other forums so far and I got a bit curious and wanted to know your opinion and rating of delusion of other forums.

Hope that's not too much to ask for?

There seems to have been a massive influx of us United fans/Redcafe users on here recently. Having been here for a month or so, I can say that the people here are much nicer and easier to talk to than those on any other opposition forum.

This is actually the first time I've registered on another forum. Mostly because I got the feeling that you could have serious discussions with people supporting another team. Trying to reason with the members on rawk would be like trying to persuade a kid out of getting christmas gifts :)

Welcome - as long as you stick around if things don't pan out for you this season.  It's funny, with a very few exceptions (maybe only one, Spud), oppo fans seem to come along at the beginning of the season but not later on, unless they're winning things (*cough* Mr Sky Blue *cough*).  We didn't see many from Christmas onwards round here.

Just because you lose bragging rights doesn't mean you have to disappear. In the end it has to do with how you would be treated, if you can speak to people in a respectful way and understand that opinions aren't always shared it wont be a problem :)

Welcome mate,

How do u see it going for your lot next season then? I think if you can hold onto de Gea, tie up otamendi, and get a quality back up for Rooney, maybe higuain, I think you will be very close next year.

It's pretty funny watching you spend millions and millions, when it was us doing it, we got heavily critised, whereas utd don't get negative press about it!

Personally I think it's good for the game if United are ploughing money into it, we get more quality players coming over, and hopefully this year it will give us some competition ;)

From an economical perspective, selling DDG would be a no-brainer. But as a fan I would I like us to tell everyone to feck off or pay up, the guy is among the three best goalies in the world and at his age he's worth way more than 30 million £. Our contract offer is probably in line with our valuation and wanted price for him. I'd rather see us lose that money. We haven't got some oil-dude behind us, but we seem to have a sh*tload of money anyway...

I'd love for DDG and/or the club/LVG to come out with an official stance on the situation...

I'm going to play with the thought that we actually sell him to Madrid and who will be our next goalie. Romero, Cillesen, Lloris, Oblak...

All those names are a step backward and with our current defenders we'd lose a couple of points right there. Of the names I mentioned I would go with Oblak if he would be willing to come here and if we somehow could "persuade" Atletico to once again lose an awesome goalie (not that they had a choice with Courtious). Cillesen haven't really impressed me, Romero would be a nice backup but nothing more than that. Levy-Lloris-our adidas deal-we need a goalie... there's the world record fee for a goalie... no thanks!

So Oblak and a strengthened defense would be my wish if DDG was to leave.

Defense: We need to adress our defence. Smalling has taken a few steps in the right direction but I'm not so sure about Jones... Rojo is an ok rotation option and can cover the left when Shaw is injured, which I hope isn't that much since I've been impressed with him whenever he has played. Can't say that much about Darmian yet, but he must be better than Valencia... not that hard? With Otamendi or Ramos coming I'd be satisfied. From the looks of it it will be Otamendi...

Midfield seems to be sorted and even if ADM was to leave without being replaced I'd say we've upgraded since the central part was the weak part. Schw-Schn are exactly what we needed

Forwards: If Rooney was to get a full season upfront then I'm sure he'd bang in 20+ goals... but we're quite thin behind him. Honestly I don't know who I'd like to see besides or as backup?

If I play with the thought that we keep DDG, buy Otamendi and strengthen with someone to play next to Rooney I can see us competing with you for the title. LVG and Woodward both seem to want two more players and not wanting to sell DDG for sums being mentioned.

Chelsea: You guys seem strong in every department and I haven't really read that much rumours about players to you. Cuadrado must've felt like a waste of money though, but I think Willian is quite ok.

City: Sterling and Delph so far... are those two actually strengthening that much or rather just filling quota for HG? Yaya is getting older and in my eyes wasn't that impressive last season, is it the age talking? Will Aguero be less injured this season?

Arsenal: Will they buy a forward? With an injury or two I think they will feel it a lot more than you, us and city.

Liverpool: Haha no... they actually think they can attract Reus. That's deluded for you :D

I truly hope I wont have to eat my words, but I think they will fail heavily and end up in place 6-10

My prediction with current rumours and players likely to be bought:

1: Chelsea/Man Utd

3: City

4: Arsenal

About us spending sh*tloads of cash... it's seriously long overdue. Just look at our team from 2008 and compare it too the team of the last two seasons... that aint cheap to come too. Of course it would be nice to get young players from the academy, but if they aint good enough what the hell are you supposed to do?

Why people are complaining about you and city spending is probably because they consider it to be money from oil and not generated money from the club? Not stating a fact, just speculating here...

Sorry for the long post, hope it wasn't a waste of time reading it all ;)

Will De Gae be happy this season? It could make sense to let him go now and get some cash in rather than keep an unhappy player?

The only problem with that is trying to get a decent replacement.

Tough question... Most of the times we don't know the players or clubs real opinions and where they stand. If he's realistic he should be aware that he's one of the worlds best goalies and that we want to be paid accordingly. We dont wanna get down on all four and let Real do it without lube... at least have the decency to use lube and give us a cigarette afterwards.

If they at least pay us close to what he's worth we can buy Oblak which I consider to be the best replacement and I believe he can become even better (than he is right now, perhaps not better than DDG). But this is just me speaking. What LVG thinks and how these things work is pure science to me...

He himself (DDG) haven't come out with a statement how he feels and what he wants so it's hard to say. But if he is so unhappy then perhaps it's time to bite the bullet and try to make the best of things. I think that's the scenario and we'll lose money and end up with a worse goalie.
