July 13, 201511 yr He did good things for us but as mentioned above he is soo soo so frustrating. Not a huge fan of Claudio if I'm being totally honest.
July 13, 201511 yr True, but I don't wish to make a rooney discussion but I think his best days may be a thing of the past. Fantastic player when he's on it but he's been a regular player at the top level for nearly 15 years now. Your body can only take so much at the top level. I agree his best days are behind him, however I still think he has enough in him to fire United to the title. He's been prolific for England when played up top, and I think he could easily score 20-25 if he is played as a striker for a full season.

He will be 30 in a few months. He is expected to be the main man and captain for united and england. Surley something has to give? anyway, I think united will be our biggest challengers next season. There midfield has improved and I expect di maria to show his true colours next year aswell and of course they have our juan, so rooney should be getting the service if he is reinstated up front again. Despite all this though, jose will not be letting the grass grow over his feet. I can imagine he is working like a demon this year. He is no one season wonder like some.
July 13, 201511 yr Hugo Lloris has broken his wrist! That ruins Man U's chances of signing him this summer!
July 13, 201511 yr Hugo Lloris has broken his wrist! That ruins Man U's chances of signing him this summer! There's a joke there somewhere, but I'm too tired to think.
July 13, 201511 yr There's a joke there somewhere, but I'm too tired to think. He's Tottenham. Of course he's a w**ker.
July 13, 201511 yr Interesting to see Ranieri coming to Leicester. Admittedly I was hoping for Hiddink but it will be great to see the Tinkerman around. He's worked with Cambiasso before as well, anyone know whether or not they got on?
July 13, 201511 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33516069 "Spurs provided no details about how the 28-year-old sustained the injury." No I bet they didn't.
July 13, 201511 yr United are going to lose their best player from last season in De Gae and there are no replacements of his standard available. Then you have to factor players settling in and a team being built. I still think they'll be third or fourth.
July 13, 201511 yr They still hope he'll be fit for the start of the season according the BBC sport. Probably just a little chip to the bone then. If it was a proper break i doubt he would be back so soon.
July 13, 201511 yr Re Ranieri's return, easiest 6 points you can think of against Leicester next season - for all the love I have for the man, Jose always had his number, always.
July 13, 201511 yr Re Ranieri's return, easiest 6 points you can think of against Leicester next season - for all the love I have for the man, Jose always had his number, always. Completely agree. The sacking of Ranieri was completely vindicated in my opinion. I have no doubt we wouldn't have p*ssed the league in 05 if Claudio had stayed instead of getting Jose in. He is good at building new squads, but not a winner which is proven by his c.v.
July 13, 201511 yr Hate to say it but I think liverpool may have done quite well here. 49m for an unproven player who is prone to tantrums and hippy crack for milner a proven underrated player who leads by example. Time may prove otherwise but the theory looks good, although rodgers is not exactly the sharpest when it comes to spending money is he.

Ranieri had a good eye for talent but that was it for me really. I grew to respect him in his later years with us but the semi final with monaco was the final straw. I see an interview with lamps saying that there were rumours that ranieri had sabotaged that game because he knew he was going to be sacked at the end of the season anyway.
July 13, 201511 yr Author Well they've spent the Sterling money already on Clyne and the Brazilian lad. They've made smart signings but I don't think any of them elevate them from last season.
July 13, 201511 yr It's £44m + add-ons, and £9m goes to QPR. £35m in the bank. Maybe they can buy back Andy Carroll.
July 13, 201511 yr Can't wait for the next season already. Too many interesting signings, Man United are building a star team but they still won't beat us!
July 14, 201511 yr Always liked Ranieri, but he just didn't/doesn't have the killer instincts and composure under pressure. He could have saved his job by winning the CL that year. I mean Monaco and Porto, 2 very beatable teams with the team at his disposal. Instead, he let the pressure got to him, and the rest was history.
July 14, 201511 yr I could never warm to Ranieri but that's cause he took over from my favourite Vialli. I knew when Vialli left that it was probably the right decision but I still wasn't happy about it. Under Ranieri though we were always going to be bridesmaids and not the bride, I wasn't bothered really when we let him go especially after what happened against Monaco.

I'm not sure he'd have beaten Porto in the final, remember they had Jose and their team was pretty damn good aswell.

Even Bates admitted that that was one of his biggest mistakes. It was a shocking decision.
