Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2015/2016

The other concern re JW is that other managers and players will know he is injury prone. He will be targeted for heavy challenges as he is a known potential weakness.

Not sure why people are complaining about Wilshere, he's been England's best midfielder for quite some time now. Even half fit he's still better than the others.

A player just 10% below being fully fit is a risk, 50% below renders them next to useless. Taking all three sicknotes to the tournament represents a considerable risk unless our ambitions are the group stages alone. We though have a history on relying on unfit players at tournaments dating back to Keegan in 82, they don't tend to workout. Maybe Roy will be lucky?

If being a stalwart in a 'small' side winning the title isn't good enough to be picked over a guy who is a crock and hasn't had a half decent season in god knows how long isn't good enough then what is?

I'm no England fan and couldn't care less if they get put out but seeing a dinosaur like Roy ruining a guys season like that is laughable. Sooner he is out the door the better.

Surprised none of the big boys have signed anyone as of yet. (Gooners you will never count).

I'd have thought with the Euros and the obvious price hike when players do well some would have been on the move already.

Wilshere is not only a liability because of his injury record but because of his 'u wot' attitude; he's our biggest risk at playing with 10 men.

All this does is reaffirm that if a Manager has his favourites you're not picked on form, why should players even hope? Why dream?

Yeah he's just a chav, always running into people fouling them then starting fights like they fouled him. Does the odd worldy pass or shot and the media love him.

Yup again, problem with England we never pick on form. Always favourites.

Hodgson is a tactical dinosaur and is absolutely clueless.

Picking Wilshere is an absolute farce. He's awful and has got worse season by season. Henderson is utterly abysmal. Lallana and Milner? Play for Liverpool and get selected seems to be the criteria.

I'd also be surprised if Sturridge doesn't get injured at customs.

Who for though? Who are currently Managerless in the PL? Are Watford still...? Surely he won't drop a league now he's in the top one...? :/ he didn't look too thrilled during the play-off win but I put that down to him immediately thinking about targets for next season.

Well that is a good question, maybe he's sick of all the stuff at Hull and/or feels he can't take them any further.

It doesn't matter how much better he is than the rest, he's been injured all season, there is no way he is at the same fitness levels as the rest of the squad. How many times does this have to happen to England before it sinks in that it doesn't work ?

The guy should have to start proving his fitness before coming back into the team. England can't keep preparing for tournaments carrying an unfit player who constantly get's injured.

He played a couple of games for Arsenal towards the end of the season after playing for their U21's for quite some time didn't he? If Roy has taken him then he's fit or will be by the time the Euros come about. Probably feels his injury record is a risk worth taking given his stellar performances for England recently and I would agree if that is the case.

He really isn't even England's best midfielder, overrated as hell. He's constantly running into players then starting fights with them. He'll do one spectacular(ish) thing like hit a worldly that hits the post and the media cream all over him. I honestly rate Henderson and Barkley over him, also based on fitness and firm Drinkwater should be going.

I read and hear far much more about how overrated he is that I'm not even sure who is overrating him or how he's still got that tag.

I would say it's swinged the other way and he is now underrated, especially if people think players like Henderson and Barkley are better.

As for Drinkwater, he wouldn't make my squad either. Based on his limit time in an England shirt he was painfully average, we already have Henderson for that. I would sooner take Townsend as there are already enough players of Drinkwater's caliber in the squad.

According to 'Sky Sources' Steve Bruce is taking the next ten days to consider his future at Hull.

I reckon he's been offered another job.

Everton!   :laugh2:

Manchester City set to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder IIkay Gundogan for a fee in the region of £20 million.

Fantastic player for a fantastic price. Picks up a lot of injuries though.

Anyone else watching the England v Scotland game from Euro 96 on the bbc website? They're reliving that game with full coverage, It's currently half time and Gullit is complaining about a lack of movement from England.

City aren't(do you use aren't or isn't in this situation btw?) wasting any time. Signed Gundogan now, Aymeric Laporte is following him very soon apparantly. Really hope we have a plan and don't get left behind.

We'll miss out on quite a few good players unfortunately, since we have to wait until after the Euros before Conte can even have a good look at the squad and decide what he wants.

That was my biggest fear of bringing Conte in over others.

He will be focussed solely on Italy and the Euros before digging into what needs done here. By the time they come home our rivals will have already strengthened (City and Arsenal have already). I don’t see us linked with any names that tell me we will be catching them up anytime soon but hopefully there is something going on in the background like the Cesc deal.

Pep setting about the ground work already, I am glad the Euros are coming up to avoid all the silly season tabloid crap, but hopefully we can land a few star names ourselves. We'll have to pay through the nose no doubt.
