Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2015/2016

Chicken feed to them.

If it sees them instantly challenging and performing in the CL it will be seen as money well spent.

I think the fact the new record deal is in the clubs are now spending big bucks.

Really hope we have something up our own sleeve, will be an underwhelming summer if we don't bring in a player who can get into our first 11.

£30m for a 29 year old centre back?

Blimey!

Starting to look like there's going to be some serious money spent by our rivals this summer.

Luis cost us half that and it was still a colossal waste of money. Let them spend.

Next season is going to be exciting, now that Arsenal have pulled their finger out (still won't win title with Wenger in charge though) and United splashing the cash.

I've never understood the fuss over Ramos to be honest, I think he's really overrated. Always liable to make rash decisions, bit of hot-head too which isn't what you need at the back. If United want to spend £30m on him then be my guest. Schneiderlin could be a great signing though to be fair.

Even if they sign those two they will still need another 3/4 really good players in certain positions to challenge IMO.

United signing Ramos doesn't worry me in the slightest. He makes mistakes and he's a hot head. He would be an upgrade on what they have but it's not really a compliment seeing as their top 3 CB's are Rojo, Smalling and Jones.

Strange he'd want to leave Madrid to go to Manchester.

Apparently his relationship with the board has gone sour and United are willing to pay him £270,000 a week.

I'd move to Manchester for this sort of money too.

270k lol

Good ol United

BREAKING: Nigel Pearson had been sacked as Leicester manager.

Best me to it Adam! He's a sociopath. And that business in Thailand with his son can't have helped. They'll do better without him.

Performed well towards the end of the season, but you simply cannot behave the way he does and expect to keep your job at a Premier League club IMO. His behaviour over the season was a joke, I thought he should have been sacked for choking McCarthy (I think it was him)

I'll remember him for telling a fan of his own club to "f**k off and die", wrestling a player to the ground and his "you are an ostrich" speech. Complete nutter.

Weird decision though, they finished 14th!

I'm wondering if what happened with his son had any bearing on this decision

If think it does. It can't be to do with how he behaved throughout the season because they would have sacked soon after those events happened.

BBC reporting that it's definitely linked to his son's sacking and not necessarily for "footballing reasons".

He's clearly a bit unhinged so maybe their board decided he was ultimately more hassle than he's worth.
