Credit to Atletico Madrid. They do a roaring trade every transfer window.

Disappointing. Ah well we still got some time left to get some deals.

I was about to scoff at Barca playing that much for a reserve winger, than remembered we paid about the same for Cuadrado.

We did well to not be dragged into this deal. However if the new Barca president decided to cancel this deal, we will be in it for a 10% discount, right?

Here is what I've gotten from this transfer so far.

1) Barcelona told FIFA to basically f**k off with their imposed transfer ban and purchased Turan anyway.

2) Barca still cannot play Turan until January, when FIFA's transfer ban is lifted, unless they want to be insanely fined.

3) Even after January, a 29 year old Turan won't beat out Iniesta, Rakitic, Busquets, Mascherano, or Pedro for midfield time

This signing was basically Barca just telling FIFA (which is currently the laughing stock of the world) to f**k off and was completely pointless.   

Long story short, I am glad that Barca got him and we can move on to bigger and better fish.

A lil overpriced for a squad player, what happened to the almighty La Masia?

So turan has moved, with a mental clause. There's a presidential vote and if the winning president decides against signing Turan, the club can sell him back to Atletico with a 10 per cent discount before 20 July. Bonkers

Was okay with the idea of signing him. Am okay with us not signing him, especially at that price. Still think he's a good footballer with a magnificent beard.

 

Also, I'm pretty sure there was a direct quote from either him or his agent that he wanted to play in the Premier League, which is what drew our interest in the first place. I imagine neither United nor us were ready to pay the amount Atletico wanted and when you have Barcelona willing to do so, you can't really refuse that offer.

I'm glad. He will be turning 29 soon and he couldn't offer us anymore than we already had in my opinion. At the price he went for i would expect to get a player who has more end product.

 

Football has always favoured the big clubs, we should at least be grateful that includes us

I meant financially. But I'm sure fans of smaller teams wouldn't agree with you!

His agent has confirmed we were never in for him. 

 

We've got our priorities elsewhere it would seem.

^Exactly. Turan is no improvement on what we have and at 28 can't see him improving much. The annoying thing is that I doubt very much that Griezmann will ne allowed to leave this Summer.
