I think he's a very very good player and would definitely improve us. He's a typical Mourinho player hard working, great ball control and full of flair and great technical ability. He has dominated both Barca and Real Madrid almost every time they've played. Big game player.

His stats are very simillar to Willians. Good workrate and pass completion, but low output (2 goals, 4 assists, 34 chances created). I was suprised to see that he didn't do that many take ons either, Willian actually has a higher number.

I'm hoping it's Manchester United. I wouldn't spend £25mil for a 28 year old Arda Turan, who is very simillar to what we already have in Willian. We need to go for either Sterling or Griezmann this window.

Willian is a playmaker who we play out wide.

Signing a "combative central midfielder" age 28 is going to sit less favourably than signing a player like pogba, or griezmann, who are not only young, but possess the necessary attributes to improve the team.

Also seem him described as an AM. So what's his role at cfc to be? "Utility man"? "Squad player"?

I do not see turan as a player who will significantly improve the team. Add to that the limited scope for sell on value, and for me, this deal is a no.

Turan is quality. Very skillful and combative. A mourinho type player. Admittedly his stats aren't jaw dropping but think of his role in the team. He can play in midfield, out wide and as a 10.

As far as i see it, traore will get a place in the squad for next season, so no need for these other unnecessary signings. I don't know exactly where traore would play though, as some say he can play on the RW, but i also remember him playing in central midfield in pre-season with us. I personally don't see what Turan adds to our team apart from experience. If we want to challenge on all fronts next season, we're going about it wrong. However, these are all just vacuous rumours at the moment, nothing more, nothing less. 

I've watched him play 4, maybe 5 times and have been impressed each time, definitely seems more capable of standing up to the pace and physicality of the Premier League than someone like Salah or Cuadrado.

The only reason I can see behind our interest in Turan is there may be some truth behind the Oscar and Pogba exchange deal

 

If that is the case and a starting 11 of last year with additions of Turan and Pogba would definitely be an upgrade but I don't see it happening

Having thought about it, id imagine Arda Turan joining just clears the way for Cuadrado to go back to Italy on loan, regardless of Mourinho's quotes.

Sterling: 20 1/2 year old homegrown for £40mil-£50mil, who have twice the creative numbers Turan have.

 

In 5 years Sterling will be worth the same, while the money spent on Turan will be lost.
