Otamendi is a good defender. He isn't the tallest defender though or at least he doesn't seem to be.

I rate Godin a lot higher.

Either would dramatically improve their defence though. Otamendi and Rojo is a significant impovement on Jones and Smalling.

Would just be typical of this transfer window if we failed to get him.

Been a wash out so far, I was feeling so optimistic after our dealings last summer too.

The problem is that if the window closes and we haven't signed Stones (or another young CB) then surely the question should be why did we waste so much time on a transfer if we didn't see it progressing.

IMO we're not desperate for another defender, but it would be nice to get another one in.

Stones himself didn't think he would get a look in at city. Preferred option would be to play for Mourinho and second best would be United as he would likely walk straight into the starting 11.

Everton are foolish to turn down upwards of £30m. 

Sounds and feels like things have come to a halt/end. Surely to go through all this would be a waste of everyone's time. If Everton had absolutely no intention of selling then we wouldn't of had submitted 3 bids?

Everton 1/3  or 33.33%  place £3 bet and win £1 + £3

it won't be a big deal because we'll still have terry, cahill and zouma as our cbs and next season we can bring back christensen, kalas or even chalobah. i don't think we should be stressing because we may lose out on a young english player who has only potential, but will cost us nearly 40 million. it's actually a joke price when we there are a few other very good young cbs who have tons of potential for nowhere near that price.

Not really sure what to make of this window. It all seems very unorganised, at the start of the window we were after a defender, midfielder, and striker. All we have really done is replaced outgoings with inferior players, barring maybe falcao.

I think the transfer policy has been pretty good over the last 3 seasons.

If we don't get stones does anyone think we will look for another centre back? Personally I don't think we will.

Yeah think this is done. Wouldn't have strenghtened us IMO. At start he would have been a depth player.

Still time to make dealings but we have really left it late.

Guess all that's left to do is win the league or CL and show him that he should have kicked up a fuss to join us this summer.
