John Stones

I have to say, to hand it in with 6 days to go is spectacularly poor behaviour on the player's part. Do it in July, if you're going to do it, and at least have some consideration for your current club. Devastated.

I think he probably expected Everton to grant him his wish without having to hand in a transfer request, which is his last resort.

Everton knew he wanted the move in all likelihood. The press knew, Chelsea knew, everybody knew. They just refused to sell, up to now, leaving the ball in his court.

Well I was going to and someone said directed me to to one but turned out they were winding me up.

They will just make an arse of you on there mate and tbh who gives a toss, 95% of them wont know who the name is in reference to anyway

no point. Mods on other football forums are just as bad as their posters. Worse in merseyside as they are just the loudest, whiniest of the bunch who like to think they have real power.

If i was Everton i'd cash my Stones in, upto £40 mill to spend before 1st sept, there is a lot of quality out there, 3 x 15 million players would surely help push you up the table with more quality signings equates to a better team, or do Efc fans not see the economics, Stones doesn't win games,  he prevents losses....

Just leave the sad sack to it, wont cause you any fuss.

True just bugged me I've been using that name since I was in high school

Apparently he got the name from some sob story, sounds like b.s to me, he's clearly on a wind up.

Stones has burned his bridges with Everton. Very difficult for Everton to keep a player that wants to leave, and even more so when the fans know he wants to leave. He is attempting to force their hand. Those of you saying Utd might come in for him now are missing the point it appears to me. He's put in this transfer request because we've seduced him. It's purely because of us he's handed one in. If he goes anywhere this summer, it's to us, don't worry about that.

What do Everton do in the circumstances? Can they talk him round? Very unlikely. They have very little to offer him in comparison to us, that's their problem. They may well decide they have very little option but to sell, reluctantly, and get the best possible deal, which will involve a lot of money, around £35m I'd say, or maybe a deal involving Moses, which wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Course they know matrinez said himself previously the interest had turned his head, it's not like they would just sit there with that elephant in the room not having a quick chat about how he felt on the matter.

Him seeing the state out backline is in would set off a fire under him as well, he surely must have said to himself, I think I'll get in that team thsi season, then you think as a young player of being in the CL, facing the top players in the world with a real shot at going far, I rate him for holding his nuts down this long

And could be mutually beneficial now we have Perdro!!

Plenty of Everton fans are saying they should of made him captain in the summer, maybe that is the difference why we held onto to Terry in his younger years.

never even heard him talk, but sounds like a humble lad. at least he doesn't have a whiny scouse accent, so that's a bonus! dunno if i could bare that accent here lol

Well I think we held onto him because of the timing, first season he was a regular was 2001/2002 he was paired with desailley, the next year we qualified for the CL then Roman and the rest is History...whats funny is Roman bought the whole club for just double what we are apparently offering for pogba

Once a player wants to go its just cash in time, no point keeping him now when he has handed in a request.

Hopefully our player very soon.

Tomorrow lunchtime I reckon.
