May 3, 20179 yr Two goals and an assist playing on the wing today, must surely be considered for the Pedro role next year.

Would you be confident he could slot back in Chelsea on the back of this season? also, 'competing in the CL' and 'keeping up with other English clubs' are two different things

You don't always find form straight off the bat. For case in point Victor Moses - has always looked great in a Chelsea t-shirt, but struggled with consistency on loans. Now likely to make EPL team of the year.

Hard to imagine him or anyone on loan walking into the first team. Yes, those are two different things.

Depends how you quantify success. Matt Mizaiga and Lewis Baker have won the domestic cup in Holland and qualified for Europe at Vitesse this year. Michael Hector has played regularly in Germany and has reached a domestic cup final too I believe. Christensen has had another solid season too in Germany. Pasalic has apparently had a solid season at Milan. The thing with Traore's loan is, have we learned anything we didn't already know? He's scoring fairly regularly. Looks okay through the middle, slightly more uncomfortable out wide but is there a place for him at Chelsea? Personally I doubt it.

Agree, it was an odd one, he was playing quite well and scoring goals in pre season, so to loan him out and take a gamble on Batshuayi, not a great decision. He's a talent, he might need to work on a few things, but he knows where the goal is and he'll only get better, another two goals against Lyon, it doesn't say much about Ajax fans when they have booed him this season.

You might be right, unlike the other lads on loan though, he made an impression with us last season, performing well and scoring goals, he took his chance and delivered, I'm not sure what else he was supposed to do.

Arguably Ajax's best player en route to a Europa League final (save for maybe Ziyech) and now a key player of their Eredivisie title run? To top that off a very high level of performance since February. Baker, Miazga, Hector, Christensen, Pasalic have all done well, but their achievements with the club are not on the same level, while playing regularly and being a key player makes for a world of difference. And since February Traore has been just that.

Baker has been the key player for Vitesse all season not just since the turn of the year, whilst Vitesse are a weaker team and he has already had a season there to acclimatise I would say Baker has performed better, I also think it says a lot that Pasalic has forced his way into the AC Milan side, as we saw with Napoli Italian teams are reluctant to give loanees game time so that in itself is an achievement,
May 5, 20179 yr As Carefree said, we've not learned anything about him that we didn't already know. It was a pointless loan and I said that when it when announced. I'll be shocked if he gets anywhere near the team now, especially with Conte seemingly preferring Abraham as it is.

Well he score a double in arguably the biggest game of his career... didn't think he had it in him. He also got to play a hell of a lot. So regardless of whether we did or didn't learn anything new, I think it's been an extremely positive loan. Why does Conte prefer Abraham?

It's a pointless loan for us as he's no further up the pecking order but obviously good for him as he gets playtime. I'm basing it of the talk of Conte wanting to keep Abraham in the squad before he was loaned out.
May 5, 20179 yr The lad knows how to win a header: What i did notice from this was how poor Dolberg's movement is. Makes some daft runs at times.
