Baba, kenedy, Ake... There's a few there to give Alonso competition. I think Baba would have revelled in that wing back role. Shame he went on loan

Honestly i think there be better options in the market, someone like  Kurzawa at PSG, good going forward and if need be can do well in a back four, which don't apply to those three. Baba can't defend, Ake isn't great going forward and Kenedy is as wildly raw and erratic as they come.

One appearance since September? Time to bring this guy back, so he can learn from the coaching staff & maybe work at as a sub for Alonso

Isn't he not playing due to being injured?

No point having Kenedy at Watford. He could come back in as an option for Alonso however if Conte wanted him to be in that role he wouldn't have loaned him out, however action needs to be taken to stop his career stagnating, he looked promising in spells last year.

They play the same formation as us, with a coach from the same country as us, but who have a more realistic chance of playing him than us. Keep him there, he'll work his way in

Agreed, it looked a good move on the face of it. However he's clearly not training to the level they're expecting, and I can't see where he'd fit into their team? Holebas at wing back is doing a fairly decent job and then their front three of Pereira - Deeney - Amorabat is pretty solid, can only see him getting a few minutes off of the bench here and there, which he'd probably get with us anyway?

I'm suspect on Amrobat and I think Holebas has been playing above himself, the only reason he isn't getting in the team is because Watford have been playing really well.  We can't go hauling out our loaned players just because they are adding competition for places and their team is playing well.

I hoped he would stay but in the old formation he had no room. This formation could be proven to be ideal for him, he would of course need to work on his defense but attack wise he looked very good. Direct football and very similar to Moses, still young and next pre season he will have a chance to prove himself to Conte.

I don't follow Watford that closely so I am not sure - I have many high hopes for this kid - hate to see Kenedy not playing more because he has so much promise in our current setup

Actually im not sure this post from another forum that i will paste below touches up on why......

As an offensive option, I never had any hope for Kennedy from the moment.

I love his hussle around the pitch but I do not think this qualifies him as a wingback. Indeed, I'd say he has a better chance as an out-and-out left back. The key component of a wingback is to be a good possession player. This is why a rather ordinary defender like Alonso, and a converted attacker like Moses, have nevertheless made good contributions to our general improvement.

Kennedy is not a good possession player. He's more about making explosive and spectacular contributions. Minute by minute, game by game, moving the ball around calmly and accurately is not his thing. That is Alonso's thing however, and I love him for it.

Even so, I want us to find an upgrade to Marcos. I want a player who can give us the stability in possession which Alonso provides but with a more powerful defensive performance at the same time. Kennedy is not that player. Learning to be an excellent defender who can provide an overlapping threat is his main chance. A threat which comes from getting on the end of passing combinations, rather than being involved in them.

This is a huge task for Kennedy. He has spent virtually all his life as an attacker yet he has not become an excellent one. To change to a new position now, and to excel at it, is almost certainly too much to hope for.

so he's back, watford has terminated his loan contract

from what i saw yesterday with alonso, the way he made navas the ultimate speed merchant headless chicken player play like bale, i really really hope kenedy put some serious work in at the training ground and get conte's attention, if conte's able to see the talent moses has, it shouldn't be hard for him to see kenedy's, he has the potential to be a bigtime player

Remember Kenedy is only 20 years old - he still can be developed by Don Antonio

I read an article which stated Walter Mazzarri didn't know what his best position was, apparently he disliked his attitude, his attitude was fine last season. I wouldn't be happy if my talent was going to waste in a team that I should be playing in frequently, complete waste of time.

Hopefully he fawns over Don Antonio as much as his parents do over democracy. Idioms aside, always enjoyed Kenedy last year, shame he went out on loan and it resulted the way it did. There's competitive opportunity here for him now, and like many here I think he's tailor-made for the LWB. He should be inspired by his surroundings now, along with the teams current form, and use the Moses archetype to make Antonio notice him. Go get 'em boy.
