September 29, 201510 yr I thought Fabregas was alright tonight, although he faded in the last half hour. Ivanovic was better too although was ultimately responsible for us initially going behind. Hazard and Matic are mere shadows of the players they once were. I thought José absolutely made the right move in dropping them, although it didn't seem to make a great deal of difference, even when they came off the bench. Begovic was excellent other than being beaten at his near post for the winner, although I suppose a lot of the blame for that goal can be laid at the feet (head?) of Ramires, who after an amazing substitute appearance in midweek, proved that he is the perfect model of inconsistency. Azpilicueta was probably the only player in our back four who came away with any shred of dignity. Mikel also put in a respectable performance. Willian was by far our best attacking player tonight; he got the goal and was at the heart of every single good attacking move we put together. Agree with all of that but I think Cahill has to shoulder blame for their second, it was his man & he was not goal side on him either which was bizarre.
September 29, 201510 yr with klopp sniffing around, sad to say it but saturday looks like it's jose's make or break match
September 29, 201510 yr Well, what a lot of sad people you lot are. Away to the top of the Portugese league, and they worked really hard, ran around huge amounts like little Jack Russells, always chasing the ball. Not great football, though. And then, as a summation of the sort of self-entitled posts that always follow this sort of match, we have..... I understand what you're saying but to be fair, you can't honestly say that this is getting ridiculous at this stage. I'll always support the team to the end, but what is going on right now is painful stuff. This season has been an absolute shambles so far on the pitch and off it
September 29, 201510 yr these are the worst performances from a Chelsea side since about 1993 And then this - were you not allowed to stay up late enough to watch Spuds at the new year? Or Sunderland last year, or Newcastle away over many years? they have to sack mourinho ...seriously ...we can't get worse than now without him...everyone for example agrees that ivanovic is rubbish this year really i have no idea how an ''experienced '' manager like him doesn't see it ?! or maybe he is just stubborn ?! ...30% on the players and 70% on mourinho for this shi*ty performance Ok, new poster, comes in, needs to make an impression. Does it amazingly well with a note-perfect impression of a person-sized dildo spouting arse-gravy. Well-done, son, take a bow!
September 29, 201510 yr with klopp sniffing around, sad to say it but saturday looks like it's jose's make or break match Klopp's heading to red Merseyside.
September 29, 201510 yr I think Jose should take them all away for a nice Spa weekend so they can relax a bit and be pampered, maybe new haircuts for the players as a new look always motivates people.

Oh YB that has made my night.
September 29, 201510 yr off topic but I've just seen the linesman behind the goal actually do something in the Arsenal game. He awarded the second Olympiakos goal after Ospina carried it over the line
September 29, 201510 yr off topic but I've just seen the linesman behind the goal actually do something in the Arsenal game. He awarded the second Olympiakos goal after Ospina carried it over the line Doesn't goal line technology make that decision ?
September 29, 201510 yr We played without the spine of the team, the best players in every area of the pitch, Terry, Matic and Hazard so it's not surprising. We also played a complete liability in Fabregas, you can accept bad form, misses, cards, mistakes, everything. You can't accept lack of effort, indifferent attitude. Just get him out of the team.
September 29, 201510 yr Not to bad tonight, at least we created some chances. Beaten by the better side yes but I think they are a decent side and apart from a few individual under par performances i think there are some pluses to take from the game.
September 29, 201510 yr And then this - were you not allowed to stay up late enough to watch Spuds at the new year? Or Sunderland last year, or Newcastle away over many years? I was in a bloody foul mood after those too!
September 29, 201510 yr Doesn't goal line technology make that decision ? Not in champions league games no
September 29, 201510 yr Doesn't goal line technology make that decision ? they don't have it in the Champions League....bizarre
September 29, 201510 yr To be fair, Porto are a very good team and we played them at home. Not an easy prospect.
September 29, 201510 yr To be fair, Porto are a very good team and we played them at home. Not an easy prospect. Porto are a good side but usually Jose puts out a team that has a clear idea of how to stop them and launch counterattacks. I didn't see that tonight.

We also played a complete liability in Fabregas, you can accept bad form, misses, cards, mistakes, everything. You can't accept lack of effort, indifferent attitude. Just get him out of the team. Fàbregas pissed me off in the Newcastle game when he helped give their man free control from corner for one of the goals. Like you say nothing makes me angry like a lack of effort. He basically shrugged his shoulder and carried on. IF he doesn't feel like playing for us with any passion or care now he has his prem medal I would prefer him to sling his hook and f**k off down the road. Lack of desire is equal to surrender.
September 29, 201510 yr To be fair, Porto are a very good team and we played them at home. Not an easy prospect. just last season I would've been confident about playing anyone in Europe. Okay Barca and Bayern would've been hard to beat but I wouldn't have bet against us. Yes Porto are a good side but frankly for a club that has our record in Europe should be a relatively straightforward task Edited September 29, 201510 yr by Haz139
September 29, 201510 yr Porto are a good team and no shame in getting beat away from home. The manner in which we played is most unChelsea and unJose like. We played OK in spells I thought but Jose needs to bring JT back and drop Ivan. I hope we invest in January to have a few other options
September 29, 201510 yr Good game ... We could have lost by more ... 3-1, 4-1 even ... Yet we could have equalised too ... Some good performances. However, Jose continues to commit defensive suicide by sticking with Ivan, IMHO ...
