September 30, 201510 yr I also miss Carlo. The problem is, and people brought this up, what happens when form drops. We find another manager? And then another? We need a manager that can be here long term and knows how to manage a team long term. And by the way, that IS NOT Jose either. He can't manage a team long term. He has no idea what to do with a youth system.
September 30, 201510 yr Oh, you mean Ancelotti. A bit disappointed now. I hold Acelotti in high esteem, but I'm not convinced he should return (even if he wanted), now or in the future. But then again I thought Mourinho shouldn't have returned, so what do I know.
September 30, 201510 yr Oh Carlo, he was the don! Probably not the best manager we've ever had (that title belongs to Jose) but he's by far my favourite. A decent gentlemen and Chelsea played the best football I've ever seen under him. We were unstoppable at times. In my view, the club treated him very poorly. I'm not advocating replacing Jose at all but I'd have Carlo back in a heartbeat if Mourinho ever leaves.
September 30, 201510 yr Hmm.. while I admit his style is better than jose's, his league record is a bit of a concern.. 0 laliga, 1 EPL and 1 scudetto? He's more like a cup manager, even that comes with a bizarre flaw (3-0 liverpool, 4-1 deportivo).. However, come to think about it, he did win 1 epl title in his 2 seasons in england.. Very poor scudetto return despite his tenure in italy but we know it's a rotten league with calciopoli finally getting exposed eventually, more like a juventus league that.. As for laliga, his diehard fans would argue that barcelona were simply just that god damn good last season, while the season before, they just simply put more attention on la decima.. well, it's still excuse that for me but whatever.. What I don't like the most about him is his so called bad moment with us.. Whatever it was, he was unable to do anything.. If it's a coup d etat then he shouldn't have let it to manifest in the 1st place, if it's something else then he should have addressed it sooner, not let it run for months...
September 30, 201510 yr Doubt he'd come back to us anyway, not the way that we dismissed him. He was good, and a nice bloke but remember he went through a "bad moment" for a while int eh second season. Jose seems to be going through that initially too, and I wonder if the board have something to do with these bad moments for each respectively
October 1, 201510 yr Carlo is definitely more likeable and that team on 09-10 is my favourite title winning team but Jose's Chelsea is more of a force. You get that feeling United fans must have had under Fergie that it's us against the world and everyone wants to be us.
October 1, 201510 yr Luca was on BT Sport the other night, maybe he's looking for work at the minute.
October 1, 201510 yr I liked Carlo and never wanted him to go; as bjd said he definitely deserved a third season, at least. That said, I do think that nostalgia does funny things when people recall his second season. We played some f**king awful football that season and finished it with nothing. It wasn't massively exciting and wasn't a display of free flowing attacking football every week, by any stretch. I have always thought Mourinho is a superior manager and that hasn't changed and I am not suddenly going to start pining over any decent ex manager just because we are currently in a "bad moment" (to quote Carlo himself). I do believe things will get better, quite simply, they have to. Carlo isn't coming back so without wanting to sound like a party pooper I don't really see the point to this thread.
October 1, 201510 yr Would want Pep over anyone if José left Is Pep really that good? He managed Barcelona in their prime. Even I could get them to win. He took over at Munich and they had just won the treble. Same team albeit with 1 or 2 additions that HE brought in and they still win the league but fail elsewhere. IMO i believe he has taken Munich backwards & if he comes to England it will be at City.
October 1, 201510 yr Carlo coming back would be pointless as it all went pear-shaped as soon as he lost the magic ingredient, which was of course.................................
October 1, 201510 yr I always rated him above Jose. So i will take him ahead of Jose anytime. Jose is just overrated You don't win what Mourinho has won by being overrated.

October 1, 201510 yr Just lost my appetite.......... Just realised that's what I probably look like on Thursday nights nowadays in the 5-a-side league I play!!
October 1, 201510 yr As much as I love Mourinho im just not sure he is a long term solution to our problems and he doesn't seem to be able to get the best out of the players this season and never really has got them playing the type of football that Roman always wanted. Ancelotti for me was perfect for the club - great guy, professional and a good image for the club...but more so i really miss the attacking football we played under him. I think he is a long term loyal type of manager that can build a team and can get the best out of the players and motivate them. I would love Roman to bring him back maybe at the end of the season. I'd love a manager that can bring through youth like RLC and believe Ancelotti would do this more so than Mourinho at present Anyone else would love Carlo back? Lovely guy, but tactically couldn't change a game...had poor record in champions league when we had a lot of players their peak...lamps, JT and drog to name just three...we have a weaker squad now and while Carlo will make us more likeable off the pitch, mim not sure he'd improve us for long on it...
October 1, 201510 yr Just realised that's what I probably look like on Thursday nights nowadays in the 5-a-side league I play!! To be fair i probably don't look that good but i avoid mirrors to make sure.

And who did Carlo lose to in cl in 2010? A certain Jose Mourinho
October 1, 201510 yr And in 2005? The bloody bin dippers. With a side that were 3-0 up too. If we were 3-0 up against Liverpool at half time under Mourinho in the Champions League final, we would never lose.
October 1, 201510 yr So funny how short some peoples memories are, we had a massive rough patch in the first half of the season in Carlo's second season, specifically recall losing 3-0 at home to Sunderland. No he shouldn't have been sacked either but you want to Jose gone for the exact same thing.
