October 1, 201510 yr You don't win what Mourinho has won by being overrated. He has to either be a wum or an idiot to say mourinho is overrated, surely.
October 1, 201510 yr With a side that were 3-0 up too. If we were 3-0 up against Liverpool at half time under Mourinho in the Champions League final, we would never lose. To be fair, we wouldn't score three. We'd get one and then soak up pressure till they inevitably score and it goes to extra time in which Ivanovic would turn up with a header that makes us all forget his horrific performances up to then.
October 1, 201510 yr Carlo never brought any sh*t onto the club he has a very likeable guy. Not saying he is a better manager he wasn't here that long.
October 1, 201510 yr Carlo's kindness and class is easily comparable to that of Zola's....but I recall certain periods where we cursed this and wished for some of Mourinho's ruthlessness or brazenness. Just like we now wish Jose had Carlo's temperament, grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
October 1, 201510 yr Could kind of do with a hybrid of the two couldn't we? jose's personality makes him the manager he is. he is ruthless. without that side, we wouldn't have won some of the games/trophies we have under him. diluting his personality would dilute the results as well i think
October 1, 201510 yr Mourinho has never managed a team for more than 3 years in one spell. Maybe he struggles keeping a group of players happy on the long term. Also as somebody else already mentioned, he is not great at developing youth, with the quality in our youth squad i feel we really need someone that can capitilise on this.

This old chestnut gets thrown up year in year out...it's all very well saying play more youth, but it's easier said than done at chelsea where there is huge pressure to win silverware every year...are fans really prepared to sacrifice silverware to develop kids...look at the outcry at the moment after more defeats than usual... of course given the way the senior members of the team is performing, the argument increases that so and so could get a chance instead of the under performing players...to be fair, he has been playing Ruben and Kenedy... But im not sure if there is any chelsea coach that has really given youth much of a chance, so not really fair to single out jose
October 2, 201510 yr Watching the team play during the never-ending bad moment was every bit as bad as this, if not worse. Carlo would watch on, motionless, hoping for things to change, and it looked like he had no ideas on how to actively improve things when they were going wrong. In his defence, the season he left, the squad was probably the most aged and lethargic it had been for a while. With the young talent at Mourinho's disposal, I'd like to think Carlo could serve up some good football and make things work here - but I would much rather Mourinho just dropped the underperforming players and went back to his Physical bully-boy style of football, for a while at least. October 2, 201510 yr And who did Carlo lose to in cl in 2010? A certain Jose MourinhoNail on head Brit. José pulled down Carlo's shorts and spanked him like a naughty upstart manager.Tactically speaking, of course. PS we all know who had us play the sexiest football in our history. Ruudi! October 3, 201510 yr If you could get Carlo and Jose to team up and have Jose do the tatics and have Carlo deal with the press that would be perfect.
October 4, 201510 yr I always rated him above Jose. So i will take him ahead of Jose anytime. Jose is just overrated Yes so overrated he's delivered us three titles in five full seasons he's been in charge with us. Get a grip you spoilt brat!
October 4, 201510 yr seems like there's a shortage of good managers out there these days. We keep recycling the same old managers over and over again.
October 4, 201510 yr Lie Carlo but as someone here rightly pointed out he had no plan b and that's one the reasons we struggled in his second season. He might have more European Cups on his CV and be more likeable but he isn't as good as Jose. Mourinho has plan b? That's news to me.
October 4, 201510 yr seems like there's a shortage of good managers out there these days. We keep recycling the same old managers over and over again. And that's just Chelsea
November 2, 201510 yr Author He's the best 1 IMO to get us out of this mess, calm the players, make them feel valued and bring a professional feel back to the club...in that second season Wilkins was sacked which affected the whole team morale but Carlo still managed to pull us back to second by the end. Class attacking manager I'd love him back
November 2, 201510 yr Mourinho has plan b? That's news to me. Mourinho is known for having contingency plans in place on match day. He comes armed and the team prepared with a plan for what happens if the score goes 1-0, or 0-1, or 2-0 or more.. or later in the game, or if we are shown a red or if they are shown a red or any number of outcomes. I'd say he is one of, if not the only manager that generally speaking, does it so well.

November 2, 201510 yr Mourinho has plan b? That's news to me. He had during his 1st stint, now? didn't see it..
November 2, 201510 yr Haven't seen that side of Jose for a long time. Have you ? Well i think it's still there, but you need the players to execute it for it to be successful. As I've mentioned in other threads, things do seem a little less calculated this season and I'm not sure what that is down to. i don't think he would abandon his usual way of coaching though
November 2, 201510 yr Yeah...I miss the uncertainty surrounding the club, the poor results, the conservative style of play... Man, those were the good ole' days.

November 2, 201510 yr He had during his 1st stint, now? didn't see it.. We didn't win he league by a canter on plan a
