One of my colleagues supports Newcastle and mentioned that bid this morning; he has no hope whatsoever that Lacazette might accept it (apparently they bid £12m a couple of years ago) but I suppose the chances are higher now when Lacazette's star has faded somewhat than when he banged in 30 goals last season.

 

Another thing in Lacazette's favour at the moment is the dearth of top-class young centre forwards that are available at the moment. The Martial fee tells us a lot.

Regarding the Bojan-Traoré debate:

 

Bojan has made 20+ appearances in two seasons which ended with Barcelona winning the Champions League. He has also scored in (and won) a Copa del Rey final. He has made 100+ appearances in La Liga, 50+ appearances in Serie A, and will surely soon reach that mark in the Premier League.

 

Bertrand Traoré has had one decent season in the Eredivisie.

 

There is really no contest as to who is the more proven (and you are unlikely to find someone more biased in favour of Burkinabè players than myself).

I'd take Lacazette in a heartbeat.

Lose a couple of pounds, go to the gym a couple of times a week.  Maybe cut down on the booze.

I'd snatch Lacazette at that price. But I believe that's BS as fees of around 30-40 were being thrown around this summer. So for him to go to Newcastle wouldn't make sense.

He's been very good for Stoke so far this season, i'm not sure i want him here though, we are very lightweight as it is.

True we do have a lot of players of that mould, but I think he's a better finisher than any of our attacking mids bar Pedro.

Lavezzi should only be brought in on loan or even not at all.

Lavezzi has done nothing of note, waste of money imo. We have other players we could use as back up instead of spending more money on a 30 y/o who won't improve our team in any way possible

I wouldn't go near Lavezzi to be honest. He's 31 this year, horribly inconsistent, and while he is an intelligent team player, he is certainly not any better than what we've already got.

Ideally, you want to see a Reus, isco, Griezmann level player added, but if Falcao is off, I'd take a cut-price Berahino very gladly. Wing or strike, pacy, tricky, scores goals and is English.
