Realistic January targets

Featured Replies

Matuidi is a superb player. Like Ramires except consistent and with passing ability. One of the closest (along with Vidal) to Bison in his prime.

But PSG would never ever sell him.

I don't think he has quite as much energy or presence as Essien and Vidal, but I agree that Matuidi is an excellent player and would be a great signing.

I'd try and send Falcao packing and bring in Charlie Austin as a replacement, as I suspect Remy will be off in the summer, so we will be needing new strikers anyway.

+1 to that

Why spend 30m on players like Teixera?

I would much rather see the club use money from Cuadrado, Salah, (possibly) Oscar sales and go all out for Reus.

Would Reus want to come here? No CL football next season and, if he were to leave Dortmund, then I expect plenty of CL teams would want him. Otherwise I would say sign him and Teixera, cause at the moment only Willian, over the course of the season to date, has shown he is worth a spot in the 3 behind our striker.

Not January but, possible shortlist...?

Happy for Emenalo to keep doing his magic, has put together a pretty good squad. Its a pity Lukaku, KDB, Mata, Schurrle and Bertrand we deemed not good enough. They would be handy right now.

I think in this current situation we are in a starter wouldn't be a bad thing. I mean buying an expensive player who slots right in. It would change the dynamic which is off at the moment.

That would mean Reus, Pogba or Griezman.

^ Every time De Bruyne scores or puts in a fantastic ball it burns. Then you tell yourself without Oscar, the titke wouldn't have been won last season, and it cools down somewhat. :|

Haha. Thought I was the only one with such a feeling!

No idea who we should bring in, but we need to sell the following ASAP:

- Ivanovic - Absoultely woeful now, beaten by everyone who runs at him, positioning is appaling

- Mikel - 10 years and he still hasn't learned how to pass the ball

- Matic - If he can improve in the 2nd half of the season, fine, but he looks a championship player at best.

- Fabregas - Useless.

- Ramires - Just runs, nothing else

- Oscar - 1 good game a season, otherwise offers nothing but falling over and waving his hands in the air

- Falcao -

- Djilobodji

- Hazard - Today was the final straw for me, just strolling around the pitch all game, doing f**king nothing. He could at least try and close their defenders down, but no, just walk slowly toward them and let them do whatever they want.

Well i'm assuming Terry will retire and Remy will ask to leave. Willian and Pedro may not want to stick around either based on this season, and Willian is rumoured to be one who asked to leave last summer.

I agree mate.

For the summer:

Hazard has made his mind up, as soon as he heard that real were interested his mind was made.

90 odd million or bale plus 30 m.

Let get pogba, varane/stones and griezman/higuain

January market:

Teixeira and Naingolan

Reminds me a bit of Hazard's days in Lille.

Never heard of him. Looks exciting although I think we lack quality passers, and goalscorers, rather than dribblers in our team.

I'd like us to bring in texeira, and William carvalho or neves in january.

In summer i'd like to see us bring in Ricardo rodriguez, laporte, and another top striker.

we need more technical players who are comfortable in possession, can pass a ball and are good decision makers in the final third. where do we find those players though? the types of players we are looking at are already playing in the top 2/3/4 teams in europe's best leagues, and those players won't want to leave to come here with no european football or stability.

I want us to swallow the bitter pill and go back in for Lukaku. Its never going to happen in january but put some feelers out there and work towards making a deal in the summer. Everton would rip us off but he is a great striker.

no chance. we cannot spend the sort of money everton will want on one player, especially one we let go. we may have been fortunate with matic, but lukaku will cost maybe twice a much as matic, if not more. i would rather bring bamford back and give him a go, no more pointless loans or letting these talents leave the club.

Forget Everton players, they are almost in the same situation as us and want insane money for their players. We need to buy smart, wich we could have done if we bought Alderweireld, when F.Luis was let go in the summer. Then we would have had a good central defender and rb for 1/4 price of Stones. I also don't think Lukaku works that well as a target striker for us. I rather we found someone simillar to Tevez, who works alot more off the ball and knows how to keep it and distribute it well.

Brahimi, maybe? Not sure about the goalscoring ability, but he is another tricky little midget we could to add to our collection.
