Our well paid coach calls himself special. His modesty doesn't exist as he always bleats on about his past achievements. Time forJose to realise this is now & it's time for him to show everyone why he thinks he's special. He could start by coaching the host of decent youth players we have & turn them into 1st team regulars. That would make him special. I shant be holding my breath.

Lets be honest we stuttered over the line last year...and our football went downhill after December, it was not enjoyable viewing..weve just got worse.

Mourinho will never make a team like Ancelottis 09/10 team that hold the record for goals scored in a season in the prem.

"happy clapping morons like above need to take their head out the clouds and face reality"

And what reality is that? That we're struggling, check! I suppose it is a question of mind-set after all. This club could play in the conference league, and I would still be a fan, so I just can't go into a game against Spurs "predicting" that we will get hammered 4-0. Likewise, I can't look at this game as it evolves and say at the start of the second half that we will lose. That does not mean that I can't see that we have very real problems. We do ... and the team I have watched in the last three games picking up 4 points (which is sh*t but better than losing three on the trot) HAS improved. I am sure there will be more matches ahead, where we will get sucker punched.

Now, as for JM. Just to be clear, I support the TEAM/CLUB not JM, but I don't see the rationale in sacking him. I see a high risk that this will happen with the form we're in, but I hope it won't. I don't see a team that is "not playing for the manager" ...

If I carry on watching this dross, I'll become an alcoholic, I miss the 90's, that late 90's team were title contenders, they could thrash this team.

Well the odds of a one nil loss to Bournemouth were 18 to one so I made a decent pile while hedging my pro-Chelsea bets.

Funny that those far more pessimistic than me are so shocked at the result.  The squad Mourinho has to select from hasn't changed, injury statuses aside, so why are people so surprised?

The team was going to resemble previous teams fielded in disappointing games so the performance was likely to resemble too.  Too many key players are off form, complacent or worse.  Only kids to shake it up or pressure the regulars for a spot.

People love to call out Jose for every loss, not playing Costa was a mistake but in a full half he didn't make a difference, still the movement wasn't there and still when a dangerous ball arrived in the box we had one player loitering nowhere near the six yard box.

Jose was right to leave him out and its Costas job to make himself undroppable, he hardly did that in the 49 minutes he got.

Bournemouth played well but there is something wrong that gos deeper than a few players getting dropped here and there and their responce or lack of to it, we have too many that play the same style and we are carrying a luxury player that is only of any benifit when the team is flying...while they're struggling, for me Fabregas shouldn't get a look in.

Love your loyalty Chippy, but you me and a blind man on a galloping horse can see this. Jose picks the team and tactics , the buck stops there.

Obviously the players have to take some of the blame but i think i agree with you, the tactics are basically sh*t.

Mourinho swaps the players around a lot, but he doesn't actually change the style. These tactics don't work in the long run, you can't keep asking your attacking players to do both tracking back and attacking, constantly, for 90+ minutes in every single game, every single season. We were running out of steam towards the end of last season, clearly the players don't have it in them to do it again this season.

With a larger squad, with bigger built players, this may be able to work. But this squad isn't huge in numbers or body build so they simply can't keep playing this style.

Mourinho is just not giving up on it though, he think's it's always one or 2 players that are letting the entire team down. I think it's clear to see now that it's not that. The players are trying, they just can't grasp the tactics anymore.

If you're right, and I'm not disagreeing, what's gone wrong?

Has Jose built the wrong squad for the style he wants to play? Or is he struggling to properly organise a more flair-styled attacking unit?

Either way, the squad doesn't look like a Mourinho side, and I'm curious what's gone wrong there. Three seasons in you'd expect a team of athletes, willing runners, win-or die attitudes. Instead there's more top class luxury and flair than we can fit in our starting XI, and only Matic to back them up.

Oh dear, so I was right all along then.

Bournemouth were plucky and scored a late, scrappy goal.

Don't worry everyone, I'll pretend the team aren't beyond shambolic and I'll predict us to win because only true fans do that.

Lmao we lost at home to flipping Bournemouth?!! Who are missing how many players?

Reminds me of barnsley away in the cup, Bradford away in the league and at home in last seasons fa cup.

This result should never happen, our players are too good for it to and yet they did.

How can we do anything more than laugh at this. If jose survives this I will be surprised, though I doubt Roman will act until after porto.

Absolutely, but that is not the only reason we're struggling. Individual performances have been poor too from key players over several games. I would only ever want to sack a manager if I really felt the players weren't playing for him. I don't see this at the moment.

Mourinho works with these players week in week out, he had a big hand in assembling this squad, yet we are a shambles of a team, with one of the least cohesive attacks in the league.

I wonder which layer of management deadwood is calling the shots these days,  Clearly JM is a good manager, and clearly we have a bunch of players that won the the PL by a country mile, so it's not logical to point the finger in either direction. Somewhere in the corridors of power, where slimy things lurk, spanners have been put in the works for whatever reason. We're just an entry on RA's balance sheet, and maybe he's lost interest too.

I don't think he's list interest, Roman has just committed to a massive outlay in terms of money and time for the stadium,he's here for the long term.

Surely it's time to abandon 4-2-3-1...it clearly isn't working any more, opponents know how to play against it and we hardly ever look like scoring...plus Matic and Fabregas in front of the back four should not be seen again

Congratulations, if you predict a win I'll make sure to celebrate before kick off.

So take a look at your squad, maybe a formation change, make tactical substitutions during the game not just when desperation calls for them.  Be pro active and prove that you are the best coach in the world. Somewhere along the line Jose has lost something of his genius.

Who's to say that with the squad at his disposal and the form of those players, he's not doing the best possible job with the tactics? who's to say another manager wouldn't come in thinking a team that won the title last year must be a doddle to manage (like most on here) and have us playing even worse, instead of being the better team and losing maybe we could be getting hammmered? too late then to call back the best manager we've ever had or likely ever will have.

I hope you're right

Perhaps ... I would be lying if I said that I hadn't lost a little bit of faith in JM. But if you're right he will be out on his arse very soon, because the team won't improve. The thing is, though, I think the team HAS improved.

Has Jose built the wrong squad for the style he wants to play? Or is he struggling to properly organise a more flair-styled attacking unit?

I think it's a bit of both. I don't think the type of players he has gone with are the players that fit in with his style in the long run. It can work for a season or 2, but in time it will become a problem. This type of football we are playing is so draining for the type of players we have, not just physically, but mentally too. Smaller build players who are mainly about flair will always struggle over time with this style because they need to put out more energy. Players in the past like Drogba, Lampard, Essien and Makelele were built for this style, they could play every season this way and it wouldn't have a negative affect on them physically or mentally.

Mourinho can't play all of these flair players with this system anymore. He either need's to bring in the type of players that suit's this style or change his tactics. We can't have a mass clearout that is just absurd, so he will need to change his tactics. If he can't change his tactics and come up with something new, then i hate to say it but maybe we have to go with someone who will. Changing manager is something i really would not like to see happen, but what are you supposed to do if the manager can't come up with anything new ?

We were one penalty kick away from winning a f**king champions league title with no manager and yet it's all José's fault that we couldn't beat Bournmouth. Okay. Fine. Makes perfect sense

Jose has a share of the blame imo, but more goes on our useless players that he keeps on trusting.
