Chelsea V Sunderland (PL) 19/12/15 KO: 15:00 BST

Featured Replies

cant even predict the results anymore.........just want to see a home win on Saturday by any means necessary

back in September I was convinced that the team would at least have cracked the top 10 barrier by now,

now I don't know how to fix it- fire manager, drop players, play youth, play a different system etc etc

there's only one thing I know for sure, despite the 2 bob results and awful standing in league, the players form or attitude and the manage in meltdown.......

I LOVE CHELSEA FC whether top of the prem or in a relegation dogfight so COME ON YOU BLUES make us all proud again starting on Saturday !!!

Spot on General.Whether we are top or bottom it is our club.Suck it up and support whatever team plays.I remember far,far worse times than these and look at all the trophies we have won in the last ten years.Rough with the smooth.....UP THE CHELS !!!!!

If we play like we did second half at Leicester we should be OK, as I said before in my opinion if the boys wern't playing for the manager it would be heads down towards the end of the game and not a dear in the headlights start and improvement late on.

Sunderland will be as up for this as Leicester so goals will be hard to come by but I doubt they'll break with the same cutting edge, if we can get an early goal I think they'll open up and we'll score again, if not this will be another must whine game for most on here.

Hopefully Jose wil explain to the lads that his betrayal speech has been (surprise surprise) taken a bit out of context by the media and that he meant more along the lines of them betraying their abilities on the training field once a real match gets underway, must be confusing watching things looking good in training and then the nervy mistakes coming in in the game.

So what side would you like to play this game.

Pity my opinion of team selection or formation will not be anything like jose will select, still why worry not my head on block

Will say that if jose dose not change his formation & select some players with a desire to fight & perform 100% from the kick off,

& goes with his usual motley crew, we then gone on to drop points, his P45 should be waiting for him in dressing room after the game.

Win or Bust for him me thinks.

this really, really, really has to be last chance saloon for Jose. A win is an absolute must. How he gets it doesn't matter. Who he offends doesn't matter. Just get a win.

For me he needs to revamp our attack. Start Kenedy and Remy, put Cesc in at number 10. Maybe Mikel with Ramires. Then tell them to simply go for it and don't stop attacking until we are 5-0 up.

Like I said before to someone who asked, what side I would play depends on a couple of things, one if Hazard is fit, 2 if he was hurt in the first place or just didn't fancy it.

It's difficult to select a team when I'm not watching them train as the one's I'd like to see might be training like Donkey's but without going overboard  here's what I wouldn't mind seeing.

Courtois (Begovic didn't deserve dropping but we need our best keeper in his best form as soon as possible).

Ivanovic (looks to be getting back to some semblance of his usual self defensively)

Zouma (we need his pace and he's been excellent most times)

Cahill or JT (I really think Cahill is under rated and JT's inclusion in front of him for me is down to his leadership qualities, not sure he is using them like he used to)

Azpilicueta (he would have been RB but I woudn't start Baba as I wouldn't change two right sided players at the same time)

Mikel (safer option than Ramires for me and more sure of what we'll get)

Matic (for want of an in form defensive midfielder, he has to get some proper form back)

Willian (no explanation needed)

Oscar (close call between him and Cesc, I thought Leicester set up well and snuffed him out Monday but he was good against Porto)

Kenedy (high hopes for this boy and prefer his directness to Pedro's mazy runs and wild shots...assuming Hazard is unfit or was not up for it, if he's recovered and was hurt then he would start)

Remy (deserves a start for always being willing, never getting stroppy and often doing what a striker's meant to do, not as good a fit as an in form Costa but I'd be happy to see him)

If Jose doesn't pick this exact team I think he's still the best manager out there.

Really struggled to not include RLC in the line up but would have him on the bench ahead of Rammi for this one, I'd give him 20/25 minutes regardless of how the game was going in place of the worst of the two in the pivot.

It is funny. You go to match day threads and when the team is announced, most will say this is our strongest line up with the change they wanted (cesc out etc) and yet complain about seeing the same line up every game.

Not me, I'm happy to believe Jose usually fields the strongest line up for the game, we pick players without much idea how they've been performing, what the role is the manager wants them to play or what sort of form they're in...it shows how difficult it is for a manager when he thinks he's got it by watching the opposition and highlighting there strong points just to see the payers switch off at important times.

Also in y post above, I meant I wouldn't change two left side players not right

Once and for all can we give this sh*tty 4-2-3-1 a rest and try 4-4-2?

I am wondering which is more unlikely to happen - Jose playing with 2 strikers or "the good attacking football".  :laugh2:

4-4-2 has been rendered useless. Everyone is playing some sort of 4-2-3-1 which gives them greater numbers in midfield. I think 3 at the back with two wingbacks is the way forward. Baba would be perfect for that, Dave... maybe. Maybe Kenedy takes up the RWB spot.

Ranieri plays 442. He played it against us. Vardy, Ulloa upfront. Simeone plays it at A. Madrid.

Really hope we will win this convincingly. Though I wouldn't be shocked if we lost.

Come on Chelsea. String some results together and give us something to be cheerful about as the holidays are upon us.

3/4-0 (please)

Don't think this'll be the lineup but I'd like to see a 4-3-1-2.

Confident we'll win this anyhoo, just hope we're straight out of the blocks.

For a game that we absolutely must win (understatement of the year) against a team who we should be beating anyway, at home, I would put the emphasis on attack.

If we haven't looked like scoring by half time then hook one of the defenders (whoever has played the worst) and put Kennedy on and go 3 at the back.

If Hazard is mincing about and not imposing himself on the game the hook him and chuck Fabregas in his place.

Tell players to shoot on site as well- one thing that I like about Pedro is that he isn't afraid to have a shot, something we have missed since Frank went in epic proportions.

Will have mixed feelings on a good result on Saturday. As a fan I want to win but will be angry with the players if they put in a great performance. Sacking the manager shouldn't change their professional attitude out of respect to us the paying public. So will be watching how certain players perform on Saturday.

As a few posters have mentioned, all very well to be grateful to Mourinho.. but this weekend, the new manager has to be supported from the outset.

Unless it's Brenda

Jose is gone... Will post my thoughts on that when work is done.

With a new manager, fresh ideas and new impetus in our players I think we can be confident the team for this one will be also new and fresh:

Courtios

Brana

Cahill

Jt

Azpi

Cesc

Matic

Willian

Oscar

Hazard

Costa

If its the Spud u like Juanjo Banjo make sure he gets as much of a stinking reception as they gave Rafa (i was not among them)because having a Spuds boss in charge is ten times worse. Another face I dont want to see hanging around is Emelano !
