December 17, 201510 yr Alan Pardew is a great young upcoming manager He's two years older than José and has been in management for nearly 20 years!
December 17, 201510 yr Hiddink is perfect for this role. He'll steady the ship and being morale back. It means the club can quietly move on the trouble makers/dead wood over the next couple of windows. Id prefer we hired Bielsa as interim. Mainly because he would get the team fit and move away from the stale tactics we've been employing. But hey I'll deal with Guus. As an Australian he can do no wrong.
December 17, 201510 yr Hiddink? Seriously? His record recently has been a bit of a disaster. Russia, Turkey, Anzi Makhachsomething, and screwed up Netherlands qualification campaign for next year's Euros. If we're going to pick someone on past interim success at Stamford Bridge we might as well find out what Avram Grant's doing. Sheesh...

Yet none of those were club jobs and the last club job he had he led us to third place after a poor season, a CL semi final (where we were robbed) and an FA Cup win
December 17, 201510 yr Yet none of those were club jobs and the last club job he had he led us to third place after a poor season, a CL semi final (where we were robbed) and an FA Cup win Anzi are a club Bobby. Russian league but still a club. I back guus. Would rather we still had Jose but the club have a long term target in mind that they cannot get now most likely.

Forgot them haha, but still I think Hiddink as an interim is a fine choice and much better than Juande Ramos or Avram Grant

December 17, 201510 yr Agree with you. Who is the summer target though?Your guess is as good as mine Simeone maybe?
December 17, 201510 yr Seems the only likely one. Pep I strongly believe has agreed to go to city, and Carlo to bayern. Simeone remains the most likely, but he has everything he wants at atletico so I am not sure he will leave there. After those 3 I do not see who else there is.
December 17, 201510 yr WAGNH reporting it may well be Ramos as he is connected to emenalo... Jesus f**king wept
December 17, 201510 yr I hope it's Hiddink, he will do a good short term job again. We got no real expectation in the league, impossible to finish in the top 4 now, don't really want the Europa league, as long as we don't get relegated. It's really recover, get the team playing again, and hopefully progress deep in the CL and FA cup.
December 17, 201510 yr Jesus f**king wept I just went on to twitter. First thing I saw was that Juande Ramos was asking for an 18 months contract. Chelsea have offered him 4 months. Maybe it's to make us feel grateful when Hiddink is announced. Edited December 17, 201510 yr by Socrates

December 18, 201510 yr So where is this late night appointment? Is already past midnight in the UK....
December 18, 201510 yr Kezman says it is a done deal: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10102859/guus-hiddink-will-join-chelsea-says-mateja-kezman
December 18, 201510 yr The obvious choice for me to step in as a caretaker role. As for a permanent manager I'm still struggling to think who could come in and take us on long term. Don't worry whichever poor bar steward is appointed as permanent manager I guarantee you he'll be gone within less than two years. Our club will never have stability or patience for as long as Roman is owner! We're paying for it dearly now and I honestly think we're a lost cause when it comes to having a long-term vision of this club. Edited December 18, 201510 yr by Jezz
December 18, 201510 yr Also been announced by Football Federation Australia (the Australian FA): http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/article/former-socceroos-boss-guus-hiddink-takes-charge-at-chelsea/yx4n4fki0c2z1nt113pc6ryhe
December 18, 201510 yr Hopefully he puts Kennedy and RLC in the first team, and boots Fabregas, Ivanovic, Costa and Hazard to the bench so they can see what it looks like when players actually give a f**k.
December 18, 201510 yr Oh but those players you mentioned WILL give a f**k now. Theyve got what they wanted so they'll put some effort in again... until they want another change and then theyll down tools until they get their wish. They know exactly what effort looks like as they did it last year. This has been a choice and they deserve to be sold/sacked, whichever is easiest
December 18, 201510 yr If only most of you fought against player power like this when AVB got sacked. The same ballsy Lamps, Didier, Terry etc were here and results were sh*te. Didn't they turn a corner when AVB left?. Bet most wouldn't have minded if it wasn't Jose. Edited December 18, 201510 yr by lesblues

Didn't they turn a corner when AVB left?. Bet most wouldn't have minded if it wasn't Jose. I must of slept through the part where AVB did the double the season prior, or where AVB had won Chelsea 3 BPL titles, or where this current squad had won more than the manager. You might not grasp it, but there's a huge difference in a proven squad running out a manager who has no relation to the club and no success here versus a squad of player trying to push out the most successful manager in the clubs history, the manager who just helped bring a double and by a squad who almost to a man never won the league with this club until said manager lead them to it. But ya, pretty much the same situation. Let's see this squad go on and win the CL now, cause thats what happened in the AVB scenario. Betting on it? Edit: Sorry, they'll need to win the CL and the FA cup.... sadly this squad isn't half what that other one was. They wouldnt be fighting relegation if they were.
