I know he's a spud c**t but what are peoples thoughts on Pochetino?

Like him a lot, would like him with us, but he's staying where he is he says.

I still have a cheese cloth shirt.

Regretfully, I have none of my old clothes.  Not that I'd fit into them anyway.  Especially from the 70s as for at least half of the seventies, I was a kid!

It's snug! There's also a velvet jacket lurking somewhere.

From what I have seen, Simione's football has 10 mins of insane pressing and 80 mins of defending. I think he is even more defensive than Jose.

My issue with Simeone is not wether he's defensive or not, is that Atletico Madrid under him are one of the dirtiest, most violent teams in La Liga. This year it seems they've relax a bit, but previous seasons they were vicious in their tackling. Not very fair play. And my feeling is that if we've had issues with the FA and Mourinho and Costa, under Simeone it could be worse.

Rumours say that the club are fearful that Simone would be another Mourinho. Defensive and confrontational.

They want someone who's calmer.

Knowing the way the FA treats Chelsea, we will have most of our players banned by November if that happens. I am sure Simione would have to change if he is offered the job.

That said, I think he will be the only one I give a chance to break the Pep-Jose stronghold at the top. All other signings will be underwhelming. Pity Jose isn't with us. Would have been fun watching him spank Pep with Chelsea.

Cause y'know that Alex Ferguson fella had clearly been listening to his whale sounds tapes... Calm as a Hindu cow.

Nobody wants a calm manager though surely ?

Ive been saying for ages i'd love him at Chelsea, seems a nice fella so no drama's with the media/FA, plays good attacking football, gives the youth a chance, whats not to like?

I got married in a blue velvet jacket, blue velvet waistcoat and blue velvet bow-tie, with blue Levi cords.  Quite the dapper dandy I was.

Still got the jacket and it still fits!  Sadly I haven't still got my powder-blue cord high-waister Oxford bags.  5-button waist-band.  Now that was fashion!

Imagine what he can do with a big club with quality youth as we do. If we are serious about developing these young lads he has to be in with a shout.

It's more about expectations than the manager's style. No way he could operate the same way at Chelsea, he wouldn't get a second season. Simply put it's easier at smaller clubs where there is room to fail.

All of the really successful coaches are intense - Jose, Pep, fergie. Carlo would be an exception though.

The sensible ones knew when to pick their fights. As for the least confrontational but also successful I'd personally have gone for Bob Paisley.

I was thinking a lot about this since José was sacked and finally came to a conclusion. I should be the next Chelsea manager. Couldn't do any worse than some of my predecessors, most players would like me probably (I would sell the rest anyway) and I would have a great understanding with the fans obviously. Plus I could use the money. A season later someone else from the Shed End would get the chance when I'm sacked.

The question I keep asking myself is will Conte or Allgeri take us above City, Arsenal and United? Based on my (limited) knowledge of them, it doesn't feel like they would. Feels like we would be scrapping around 4th. I think that's the question that the club have to answer. Who are they going to bring in that will take them above the top 3 usual suspects?

Hopefully someone can tell me otherwise though.
