Yer that's what I was trying to imply. He is just another Mourinho, he can Deffo challenge pep and mou however, if we get him, we would end up having similar problems we did with mou

I'd like him too, he'd be my first choice.

He's worked with Tibo and Costa before so would get the very best out of them and maybe bring someone like Koke with him who would be a huge influence in our side.

Does he speak English though?

Oh that's a good point. I wouldn't mind having him as a manager. In fact he was my first choice a couple of months ago

What has Simeone done to make you think that?

An example of what it can be with Simeone:

http://www.marca.com/2014/08/25/futbol/equipos/atletico/1408978442.html

8 games suspended after the Supercup match against Real Madrid for hitting the fourth referee behind the neck after being sent off.

Other example:

I don't know if he was suspended after all.

His teams are defensive minded, which some of our players don't like. Also his teams are usually really aggressive and could lead to more problems with the fa

He would look stupid if he left after all he said. I can only think of money being the reason behind him coming here.

Maybe he fancies a pop at Jose and Pep on a more level financial playing field.

The more I read about Conte, the more excited I get but it would require a huge change at this club from top to bottom. We'd need a fairly large turnover in terms of the playing staff and the academy would need to change it's style a bit but it could be an exciting period.

Simeone is the best choice for keeping quite close to what we're doing now but if we're happy doing that then we probably should've stuck with Jose. I like his passion though and I agree that he'd be the best at coaching a team who would be something of an underdog next season.

Conte is a real drama queen, He had problems with the Juve board and now with the Italian federation, I cannot see how he would change under Roman, Whilst he has a great record, He wants full control of his teams and unfortunately if Mourinho couldn't get that then what chance has he got?

Absolutely agree and that is the fundamental problem at this club. What we need is for someone to explain to Roman that he knows just next to f**k-all about football and that he should butt out of team affairs.

But he won't and there's something admirable in that because the guy is living the fantasy of anyone who has ever played Football Manager.

Your owner on the other hand seemed to want success and hired the 'best' people in the world for it. Roman hasn't except for in the coach's role.

It's one of the reasons I like the idea of hiring a coach with a strong personality - and it's also the reason that IF we did he wouldn't last more than a couple of seasons under the current regime.

Whoever takes it is going to bring in a raft of new players as the squad needs a major overhaul. With outgoings too.  And the youth lovers will still get the hump we are signing players instead of promoting.

The squad will need a major overhaul.

But due to the clubs need for instance success, whoever comes in will be given vast amounts of money to spend on journey men and i feel we will never see more than the odd home grown player playing regular football.

Apart from jt we havent had one.

This is the way of the Roman Empire i am afraid

why would we need radical changes to hire a coach also there isn't a need for the academy to style, they already play conte's preferred style.

I think we need big changes regardless of which coach we appoint, primarily with the handling of football matters at the club. I think we need a new Technical Director and that the role should be expanded so there's a bigger buffer between the coach and the owner.

I thought Conte's preferred style was a 352 although he's very flexible.

Simone is my choice so I'm pleased that there's rumours about him coming here. Still nothing concrete but at least Simone to Chelsea rumours are picking up.

Grant Wahl says Conte is the 1st choice. The club have met with him in Miami

I think it's BS. The truth is nobody know who is the 1st choice. There is so much rumor that at this point it could be anyone.

Compared to city and psg, we're actually 1st to come into the scene but how come we got dominated by those 2 in term of possession? It looked like a big team against lesser team and when city & psg play the likes of barcelona/bayern/real, they're the one who got dominated..

I need that philosophy to let the team play the proper way.. the next manager hopefully not pragmatic..

Don't know if we need a new Technical Director or not because I have no idea what the current Technical Director does apart from what the internet tells me. Yes conte's preferred tactics is 352 and the academy plays it ( at least the u18 does).

I thought you might be referring to the Under-18s recently using a 352 to accommodate Abraham and Ugbo. That's still the only age group using that on a somewhat regular basis to my knowledge so it's not widespread by any measure. 4231/433 is still very much the system our kids are developed in.

Nope the u18 hasn't been using 352 recently, used it also last season also aren't tactics generated to suit the players in a squad.

Well that's interesting to here. Personally I think the club should have a unified vision of what it wants to play and find players who fit that rather than the other way around. The problem there is that coaches don't tend to stick around as long as players so you need that vision to exist beyond the coach, and that's where I think an expanded Technical Director's role is key.

Otherwise we're a club at the whims of the owner.

Sorry mate I won't discuss on speculations. Most hardly know what goes in Cohbams not to talk of the board room. I leave all that to the owner, board and non-playing staff. Bar this season, my expectations have never been disappointed ( season isn't over yet) and I expect us to be at the paramount come next season end.

Isn't that what most of the discussion on places like this is? Speculation? Or at least extrapolating rational assumptions from what's out there?

I can respect your view though. No worries.
