March 13, 201610 yr It's the first time you're hearing of it? Yes, and I thank my fellow members of this forum for educating me :-)
March 13, 201610 yr I don't know what was worse, our performance or the commentary. I love how they took great pains to mention they were surrounded by away fans, which is why you could only hear the Chelsea. The Beeb are even worse than BT sport, and thats saying something. Yes, Beeb commentary is very anti-Chelsea, As are other channels. Tony Gale is the worst by a country mile - you can here the vitriol in almost every word he utters about us.
March 13, 201610 yr Oliver was *loody awful yesterday. Some very biased decision making eg Pedro gets studs in knee and no yellow. Fab' does similar later in match and gets a yellow. Barry has long been a dirty *hite of a player and was on Costa's case from the off - he was deliberately trying to provoke a reaction and eventually got it on Costa's first yellow. Although how the preceding potential leg-breaker of a foul by Barry on Costa escaped a yellow is beyond me. Everton came out of the blocks with some very heavy tackling - they were trying a fast press approach (it worked) but they lack the technical finesse to do it without being clumsy - in truth they reminded me of a Pulis team yesterday. No great talent and heavy on the fouling front. So, crap inconsistent Ref' and dirty tactics were against us. On the other hand we didn't play well and Rom' scored two belters albeit ably assisted by this seasons trademark CFC *hite defending.
March 13, 201610 yr But it was clever play from Everton Bloo....Martin Keown said so !! The ugly, biased Ape.
March 13, 201610 yr Did anyone see the incident where Willian was crocked down the right while going forward and the ref just ignored it. No theatrics from Willian, just kicked on the ankle and went down. The ref wasn't really reading the game in my opinion.

No theatrics from Willian, just kicked on the ankle and went down. The ref wasn't really reading the game in my opinion. Worst one was the Kenedy one where he burst through the middle of the pitch and Jagielka straight up body checked him. According to the commentary he was trying to get out the way despite leaning in with his shoulder almost as if he was bracing to make contact.

I really think Keown yesterday gave him a run for his money. As for the commentary, we might as well have been watching Toffees TV, shockingly biased. To think that we are paying these muppets via our licence fee. Took the liberty to look up the email address of the head of sport at the BBC. March 13, 201610 yr Maybe this season is the kick up the arse the club needed to make some changes. A reminder that you need to refresh the squad even after you've just won the league. The signings have been bizarre at the very least. Its time to sell most of the deadwood/loanees, promote youngsters and buy some quality players for the positions that they are needed. And if any player in the squad doesn't want to play in the chelsea shirt, get out!
March 13, 201610 yr Been thinking about this over night. If Suarez acted like costa did yesterday, not just the "shall i bite him or not" stupidity but constantly moaning and rolling about , we would all be going mental on here. Good player he maybe but he has to sort himself out, the guy has no dicipline. You could say he has more passion than most of the others out there, he just needs to channel it in the right direction. I feel he will be off along with at half a dozen others. But as i said before if thet dont want to play for OUR team let them go for as much as possible including a certain Mr Hazard

According to the commentary he was trying to get out the way despite leaning in with his shoulder almost as if he was bracing to make contact. Don't forget the one where Baines fouls Azpi and then does a swan dive, they get the advantage to play on..

To think that we are paying these muppets via our licence fee. Took the liberty to look up the email address of the head of sport at the BBC. [email protected] head of sport production BBC [email protected] I wonder if it actually makes a difference though? Certainly with Sky/BT I've seen some people complain and get nothing but a shrug off. BBC Sport is the worst in my opinion, the website has been so overtly anti Chelsea more so than any other media outlet. We could certainly compile a dossier of bullsh*t based on last night just by going through this thread, so many shocking quotes..
March 13, 201610 yr Beyond all the ref stuff, the crap commentary and the dirtiness of some of Everton's players there are two things I took from that. 1. Our away support is absolutely fantastic and I'd love if we could just have a crowd noise option in games. 2. We got our tactics wrong, Everton got them spot on and we didn't react to what happened during the match. It used to be us who bullied teams, us who would unsettle opponents' key players, us who would needle players, us who would win the battle of the minds. We're a mentally weak team, we lack players who understand what it is to support their teammates and I think we lack players who have the type of character that we need here. I've heard countless players who were coached by Jose who said he demanded more than other coaches and pushed harder than other coaches and that it made them better. I think Robben was the most recent one. Here; When I met Mourinho, I was still very young, but mentally and tactically, he worked on me. He was really demanding, you could not take a step below your level. “We played a lot of games, but how he prepares his team, what he says to the players, he can really say the right words at the right time and you start to think more. I made a big step under Mourinho, mentally.” “Mourinho was always very strong for his players and you needed to deliver for him,” Robben said. “For me, it was good. It was also very special because, in my first year, we won the league, Chelsea’s first in 50 years, and that was important for everybody at the club. But for me, the big thing I learnt from Mourinho was about mentality. He taught us to be strong, collectively, and also strong for yourself. Robben reacted well to the pressure but far too many of the current crop crumbled under it. Yesterday they crumbled once again.
March 13, 201610 yr Costa' punishment will depend on Barry's comments. If Barry claims Costa bit him, the way the media act, there will be a witch hunt against Diego. If Barry plays it down then it goes away. Simple. Good on Barry. Still a knob but he calmed down the storm quickly.
March 13, 201610 yr Beyond all the ref stuff, the crap commentary and the dirtiness of some of Everton's players there are two things I took from that. Sorry to play devil's advocate but I didn't think Everton were that dirty, they were cynical (tactical?) and aggressive but I didn't see many tackles that may have caused serious injury. Would have no qualms if we were doing the same. Other than that I agree with your comments completely, these days it seems we need to play well to win games - for the most part the players seem to lack the mentality needed to win games by whatever means necessary.
March 13, 201610 yr Manchester Utd appear to be getting the same treatment. Just saw Lingard diving and tackling to a ManU player from behind and the ref didn't want to see anything. They played on and Fellaini got a yellow for doing basically nothing.
March 13, 201610 yr Sick and tired of hearing today "our season is over" That's what you sing to the opposition ffs There are 8 games to go including West Ham, Liverpool and Tottenham .... Massive games. We all got to get up and play for the best league position we can now. I am getting some tickets in now, for all those JCL's moaning with their feet because we won't be picking up a trophy.
March 13, 201610 yr Did he bite him? NO Was he .0000001 seconds away from doing it YES https://youtu.be/K9QkFIwFiek

Massive games. We all got to get up and play for the best league position we can now. I am getting some tickets in now, for all those JCL's moaning with their feet because we won't be picking up a trophy. But the season is over. There's nothing left to play for this season, but on the upside we can start looking towards the future with a bit of freedom. Blood a few youngsters, try a few new things and leave the place in a bit better shape for the next guy.

March 13, 201610 yr Bizarre reply .... No it isn't Ok, if we're being literal then of course the season isn't over but in terms of trophies on offer it may well as be. There's a chance of finishing 7th but in terms of looking towards the future wouldn't it be better to perhaps use those minutes to develop youngsters? It's very rare we're in a position where we have comparatively inconsequential first-team minutes.

If the ref got on top of Everton's obvious tactics early on, Costa would have had nothing to moan about. This the problem with ref's in this country, they allow teams like Everton to play that way.
