£23 million is around 29 million euros, and that is supposedly including add ons - so roma are asking for £32 million (nearly 40 mil euros). I would say what we've offered + add ons seems fair considering his age, but understandably roma aren't going to accept less for one of the best players.

Tbf top players aren't always that effective in the big games. It's usually others around them take Thierry Henry or Alan Shearer for example they didn't deliver in cup finals.

I just wouldn't want to be spending 30 odd million on a Giroud who you cannot rely on when the chips are down.

Costa is a far better option and if we replaced with Higuain we would be going down a level IMO.

If we want a player to score goals regularly against the lesser teams we can pay a lot less than the money we would be paying to take him from Italy.

As impressive as that sounds Seria A is very poor these days. It's not even close to the same level it was 5-10 years back which is a shame really as it used to be a great league to follow.

Higuain is a goal scorer but technically he's not very good. He doesn't get stuck in and if he's not scoring he has zero impact on a game. As a back up or partner to Costa I'd take him but not for the fee's being mentioned. There is far better value for money out there

Greizmann is one of Europe's best forward players, he would be on every top clubs radar so I can't imagine us standing much of a chance.

Atletico are also ahead of us in many ways just now so I don't see them selling if they don't need to.

At 25 years of age, I reckon we would get two seasons from Griezmann before Madrid or such swoop. He's that good.
