Champions League Final 2016

Shame for Athletico. I do like Simone. I think it's games like tonight that makes me think this is the reason that we didn't go for it. Like Jose, he just doesn't take risks. Happy to sit back and Nick it.

Torres contributed more to his final with Chelsea.

Apparently he refused to take a penalty. Again.

Simone proved tonight he isn't one of the best managers in the world. A world class manager wouldn't chose to play a 130 minutes of a European Cup Final with ten men.

While I have sympathy for Atletico, I'm glad that fcuker Torres didn't win it...chose greatest moment in our history to bitch and moan about how he was being treated at the bridge and this week took more pops at us...the guy should take a look in the mirror once and for all and not just to sort out his dodgy Barnet...actually should just watch his pathetic 120 minutes back from tonight

Shame for Atletico, it would have helped if they'd had a striker. Has to be said, Real's penalties were all excellent though.

What a naff broadcast team BT have. Owen Hargreaves has you pining for Martin Tyler, he's that boring and uninspiring. Lineker sounds like his lines have been pre-recorded. And that third rate hack Des Kelly doing the post match interviews?

There was no sense of occasion in bt's coverage at all...it is just all so underwhelming

Hope someone breaks Pepe in half as soon as possible. What a pathetic guy, he riles me up to no end.

I'm with Brit, I didn't/don't really have a problem with Torres during or after his stay with us but to then moan about he was treated is a complete joke. All that support and good will afforded to him and we got duck all in return. Perhaps if you were fit to lace Drogba'a boots you would have got your chance, just could not be arsed.

Anyway, I don't dislike him but those comment left a sour taste. Feel sorry for Luis who didn't get the support and time he deserved here.

I thought it was a tactical game and enjoyed it. While Kroos was in, Real Madrid was controlling and creating some danger together with Bale. Didn't like his change, but he was injured from the earlier kick from an Atletico player. I would welcome a player like him at Chelsea any time. And Bale always shows up in the important games (unlike Ronaldo), so again, if he wants to come to Chelsea, I'd be glad too. Ronaldo did fcuk all until the penalty. Failed a couple of chances but he was coming from an injury and just got to the final because he trains hard. And please, don't even talk about Benzema coming to Chelsea, his usual self and that one on one...

On the Atletico side I like Oblak, and if Courtois wants to leave I think that he could be a great replacement (although unlikely to want to come). They've got a very solid team, all players have great working rate.

Overall, the experience that Real Madrid has in the champions league has made a difference.

Despite Torres still being horrendous (won the penalty because he wasn't anticipating the ball, reacted slowly and gave Pepe an opening), seeing him cry breaks me.

Feel for Atletico and Simeone. Despite the horrendous first half they were the better team out there. But on some level I'm glad they didn't win cause I don't like their dirty play, even though it didn't come out too much tonight. I know RM have Pepe/Ramos, but that's a case of two dickheads whereas at Atleti is seems like a systematic thing.

Happy for Zidane, despite his obvious tactical failings in that game.

What always makes me laugh is he clearly enjoyed winning it on the night way he was celebrating.

The penos were excellent. Kudos to thier scouts for picking up Oblak must be a 'move first' keeper on penalties

Who thinks that Real were the best team in Europe this season? I don't. They had such an easy ride to the final - They came back from Wolfsburg, fair enough but then played PSG and City who basically didn't turn up for the 2 games.

Not impressed with Zidanes tactics either, very conservative.

I thought Ath Madrid deserved to win it after beating Barca and Bayern.

even zidane has a cl winner's medal as a coach now, damn!

atletico really don't have a plan b and real are mighty average when bale and ronaldo aren't on fire. i am starting to think these teams are overrated. however, saying that it's the end of the season so maybe some leeway should be given.

Do you really think we were the best team in Europe the year we won? It's a cup competition and therefore you're going to find out which team can get a result when the need too and nothing more than that.

We did it the hard way though, beat the best team in the world with ten men when it mattered most, then beat Bayern in their own backyard.

I completely agree though, it's cup football, and what you do on that night is all that matters.

As it turned out, cl winners and competition this season was pretty average...how else do you explain city getting to the semis? Wanted Atletico to win, but like I said, Torres tainted that feeling somewhat...didn't think griezmann or Koke had best if games for Atletico, which hurt them...hard to believe a team that has a tossers like Pepe in it have won the competition again
