Ronaldo broke into your first team as an 18yo.  So not such a 'silly' idea.

That's completely different though. Being the number 9 brings the responsibility of goals whereas a winger can be a bit more hit and miss. So there's a lot less pressure to perform.

Also, that was Ronaldo. Big difference. Rashford is talented, but he hasn't shown the talent that either Rooney or Ronaldo showed at that age. Though, to be fair, they were the best teenagers in the world at that time.

Rashford has scored more goals for you than Ronaldo did at the same stage of his career. For you to dismiss that as 'completely different' is nonsensical.

I rate Rashford very very highly and think he'll go on to do well. He's learning a lot from Ibra and will play in at least 20 games this season, probably more.

Ronaldo's all round play even at that age was insanely good. He was frustrating at times, but he was very effective at beating players and his crossing was good. That really suited the Fergie 442. Now, we have a different manager, with very different pressures and who plays a different system.

FWIW, I don't think Rashford will reach Ronaldo's heights, though I don't think anyone of his age group or just above or below will either.

Abraham and Rashford have both got big England careers ahead of them imo. But I honestly would not be surprised if neither of them are at their present clubs in a couple of years time.

Why on earth would United sell our best young prospect, who we have developed through our academy, to a rival? Especially when we, clearly, do not need the money. The only example of us doing this was with Welbeck who was much older and didn't look to be of a sufficient standard to be starting for us.

Of course Rashford wasn't going to be playing every game this season as to rely on an 18 year old is an incredibly silly idea. He is a great talent and has a very big career ahead of him at United with only two 30+ year old strikers ahead of him. In today's prices, regardless of the fact that United are pretty secure financially, Rashford would demand a £50m fee. No one would pay that for him and United would not accept anything less.

He was playing every game for you lot towards the end of last season and torturing defenses, How has he gone from that guy, The next big academy product to a guy who isn't going to be featuring let alone playing every game? Did you watch the derby last year? or the game against Arsenal? It's two games into the season and he hasn't been able to come off the bench even against world beaters Bournemouth and Southampton and in games where you had it comfortable.

Just admit it, You have taken a liking to Mourinho so therefore you are defeding him but Mourinho is just being Mourinho, From saying he will give the youth products at Chelsea a chance and bringing on Loftus Cheek on for 10 minutes to then openly criticizing him because he didn't graft enough, and you wonder why he has a bad rep with younger players? You don't openly criticize young players on issues such as that, Now where is Loftus Cheek? I think Mourinho has a trust issue with younger players.

Yeah but Zlatan was a genius move guys.

Lets see if that is still the opinion come the end of the season.

Derby County beating Carlisle Utd last night 14-13 on penalties !

Can't ever remember a professional British game going that far on penalties!

Is this a record ?

I think Liverpool and Middlesbrough also had a 14-13 a season or two ago (when Bamford was on loan at Borough and Blackman was in goal - not very successfully!).

Very sad situation with Balotelli at the moment, what a talent he was.

Pffft. Scored a couple of blinders, never really did much since. Dreadful attitude.

Blueblur!  I've just noticed you've changed your tagline thingy!  When did that happen?  So, you're no longer the office slut......sigh.....there goes our entertainment.

Where have you been? This "happened" on June 1st. I'll see you over in RC if you'd like to discuss this earth-shattering turn of events in further detail....

Ok on my way there now.

No sympathy whatsoever for him. He has been afforded a talent that has earned him a high amount of money but can't be arsed to use it properly.

At least Burnley have been knocked out by Accrington Stanley.

Ah but Shrewsbury is my local club so it doesn't help much.  But yeah any underdog winning is good (except against Chelsea of course).

Yeah I do recall you support Shrewsbury. Unlucky there.

I still don't like Burnley or Dyche after 2015 though, so I'm glad they're out. [emoji3]

Oh, and, being pedantic, I support Chelsea but have a fondness for Shrewsbury.
