Discussions held about Saturday Champions League games & guaranteed places but not expected to be announced tomorrow

not quite sure what this means. so when he says "top" clubs, does it go on previous achievements or just as it currently is but without qualification for group stages? i am assuming it's the latter, but just to be sure as there was talk a few months back about previous achievements being taken into account as to why teams like ourselves and utd would automatically go into champions league without getting top four.

The whole thing is just a constant cringe!

Edit: it's also probably to do with the fact it's the second language for most of them.
