June 29, 201610 yr 1. It is absolutely delightful reading Spurs and West Ham fans (mainly Spurs), trying to dig out his goal droughts and weaknesses as a way of making themselves feel better over him not signing. And then coming out with the theory that Dutch one season wonder Vincent Janssen is better and they "always wanted him more anyway" 2. Why do the opposition fans assume he will spend most of his time on the bench here, behind Costa? We have Conte now, not Hiddink and Jose who stuck to a 4-2-3-1, we have a manager who likes 3-5-2 along with many others; as evident on his Italy showing in Euro 2016. Batshuayi will probably play alongside Costa (if he stays) and i for one cannot f**king wait!! Edited June 29, 201610 yr by RickUK
June 29, 201610 yr So from the bio on him on the previous page he is a selfish player who will try and impossible shot rather than pass to a team mate in a better position. Is also allergic to hard workdoes not sound like something that impress conte and his team ethos

I'd rather judge him in a Chelsea shirt, than off some website or Youtube
June 29, 201610 yr Yeah the guy who posted Hulk was about to join is a name I always see floating about on here regarding transfers. Twitter is full of tripe. if you follow the wrong people it is

June 29, 201610 yr Some are worth following on Twitter. Kristof Terreur off top of my head. Matt Law Telegraph, Dom Fifield, Sam Wallace, Duncan Castles is alright too. Ones to avoid like plagues are anything with agent in the name, or ITK.
June 29, 201610 yr https://twitter.com/Jon_LeGossip/status/748142460136742912 I think it'll be PSG along with Emery, but if this is Emenalo being demoted or binned, many will be pleased
June 29, 201610 yr Medical is complete, clubs have agreed fees, just down to Batshuayi to agree contract terms.
June 29, 201610 yr and the Dutch league is renowned as the league you have to be careful when signing players from as so many who have had good records in Holland dont turn out to become great players! France is very different! players who do well there tend to turn out to become top players Kezman as a good example Edited June 29, 201610 yr by Adzio
June 29, 201610 yr you think there are no reliable sources on twitter! There a both reliable and unreliable sources.. Without doubt it is the quickest method of travelling information. L'equipe (who are reliable) reported the Batshuayi deal at 11pm last night on twitter. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Michy-batshuayi-a-chelsea/700625 The photo of Cesc posing with a CFC shirt last season also broke on twitter. Wanted him so badly, then Utd came in and we seen how clinical he was.

June 29, 201610 yr Cant see Costa and Batshuaiy playing up top together. I hear all the time that Conte likes to play with two strikers so its not a problem but you cant just chug any two strikers up top, they have to compliment eachother. He had that at Juve and he has it with Italy. I think this signing indicates that Chelsea feel Costa is missing too many games a season and they need someone capable of leading the line alone sparringly this year and maybefull time 2-3 years down the line.
June 29, 201610 yr Seems more like a club signing than a Conte signing but would be pretty happy with this nonetheless, good young striker and could eventually take Costa's place.
June 29, 201610 yr People talk about selfish players like it's a bad thing. Look at Ronaldo, great goal scoring stats for that precise reason. It is something that hazard could well do.
June 29, 201610 yr People talk about selfish players like it's a bad thing. Look at Ronaldo, great goal scoring stats for that precise reason. It is something that hazard could well do. It's something we lack just now tbh. Too many of our players try to walk the ball in and don't tend to take the shot on....this lad at least looks hungry to get a shot away. (Had over 100 last season lol)
June 29, 201610 yr I didn't expect this one but nevertheless I'm pleased he's joining. Hopefully he doesn't join our B team in the Netherlands on loan and provides quality backup to Costa. If he does sign however it more than likely spells the end for players like Remy and Bamford For the price we're reportedly buying him for, we'd be flipping mad to offload him on loan to Vitesse. This has come out of nowhere as I reading yesterday that Palace had tabled a bid for him, and the media seemed to suggest he was heading that way so it's a surprise to see how quick things change in 24 hours. I don't know much about the kid so any summary on his strengths, weaknesses and what he can provide to the squad if he joins as expected would be hugely appreciated from those who have seen him play regularly. June 29, 201610 yr Seems more like a club signing than a Conte signing Most likely Conte outlines where he wants the squad to be strengthened and then the club targets and signs the players. In some cases Conte might target individual players and then the club try to make it work. But I don't see Batshuayi as any more a Conte signing than I would Morata.
June 29, 201610 yr you think there are no reliable sources on twitter! If you have good sources why are you releasing your information free on twitter You know how much they'd pay for a proper Chelsea ITK ? Unless ofc you think they do it for fun. Edited June 29, 201610 yr by Stim

"According to Tutto Mercato , the Italian manager’s people had dinner with Batshuayi’s agent on Monday night following Italy’s win over Spain, and convinced the player to join Chelsea. The meeting turned the tide towards Chelsea, who sneaked in from behind to surprise clubs such as West Ham, Palace and Tottenham in the chase for the Belgian. The striker has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea over a five-year contract and will soon become their first summer signing."
June 29, 201610 yr I know nothing of him. Reading that he can be brilliant, then frustrating, and at times overly selfish reminds me of Daniel Sturridge. I'll wait until I actually see him before I make any further judgments Hate to be "That Guy," but is he any better than some of the lads we have in our ranks: Abraham, Solanke, etc?

Solanke only scored 7 goals in 25 games last season in a weaker league. This lad has been around professionally since he was 17 (77 goals in 198 Professional games) and has now scored in a major International competition. He is streets ahead in development. Talent wise we will see in the coming season.

Well he has more experience than those boys both domestically and internationally.
