That's all well and good and I agree but the form we were in last game emphasise that it's so disappointing to let the international break push us back a few steps, next 2 games are huge for us, this is the time we need to go in a big run, having a shakey win after such  comfortable wins would spell bad news for that run should we have a bad result in the next 2, but yea, obviously happy with the victory and the age old grinding out wins  stuff of champions stuff.

Big win , good performance all around. Luiz MoM for me, didn't think I'd be saying that about his defensive capabilities.

Don't forget as well this is a game after international break at a tough ground so naturally the players will be a bit rusty as Liverpool found out yesterday , so to come here and win is massive.

also the players don't need any motivation against spurs at Stamford bridge.

Well. I must extend a warm thank you to Boro for turning up today. Very decent of them, and i thought we handled it well, winning without rubbing their noses in it.

We need to get Antonio a coat, but perhaps not from Matalan!

Haha, remember a month or so ago we were desperate for any sign of progessing towards a clean sheet, let alone having one. Now 6 on the bounce! Absolutely top management and application from the players behind this run. 

 

Very good performance that would have had the right scoreline but for Valdes and the bar.....ONWARDS AND UPWARDS,UP THE CHELS !

Costa was pulled back from international duty because of an injury scare.. With big games coming on, it's only logical for some fans to want him to be handled cautiously, not taking risk.. It's not as if we don't have quality replacement..

 

Some said boro was tough but I think they're just average especially going forward, decent at the back but it's also helped that we just didn't look sharp..  Coming off from international duty, I can cut them some slack this time around..  To be fair, we're not the only who weren't sharp..

 

We'll have a whole week of training now so I expect the team to be sharp for the upcoming games.. Normally 1 nil is not enough for me against such team but this time it's ok, in fact I wouldn't mind for 3 times more of such result, we'll knock MU off of that record.. 

that's the thing, if we would have gone there and won 0-3 (those two big opportunities went in) people would have been saying "what a performance" but as we only won 0-1 people can pick apart the cons of the game. i think overall we played decent considering most of our players were returning from international duty (thus only having limited days to train for boro) and it was an away game at a seemingly tough ground. 

The run goes on. 

Absolutely massive 3pts without a doubt...the boro away after an international break was never gonna be easy and tbh if someone offered me the draw beforehand I would have taken it....this win sent out a serious message to our rivals that whatever team wins the prem this year is gonna have to fight us all the way....

If he was genuinely injured ok, but he clearly wasn't nor Eden and resting both today would have quite possibly left us with dropped points, this game was tricky enough with them. Look at what happened to Barca this weekend without Suarez and Messi and I've already touched on the example of Rafa vs QPR.

before today Middlesbrough was the team with 4th least conceded goal. they also had a great record last season in the championship in term of the number of conceded goal, especially in their home. it was never going to be an easy game for us. winning in there, no matter how ugly is still a massive win

funny thing was, the superstitious side of me was almost sure we were going to f*ck up, because it's after inter break (we usually are slow in recovering), playing in black kit (some says it's cursed), in the same week where our rival dropped point (we often fail to capitalize this kind of situation), and played in November (the month where our performance often dropped). thankfully we won

Thought we were going to pay in the end for not getting that second goal, especially when Ivan came on but our new confidence and organisation in defence saw us over the line. I thought Luiz was superb at the back. Hard place to go, great result. Bring on the Spuds!

Anyone still get nervous when they keep playing the ball around the defensive area? my heart was in my mouth they kept doing it. 

Reassuring to know that Conte can get the side to grind out results too. 

Recent performances have been amazing but we still get three points for today too and it's nice to know the composure is there to see out 1-0 wins.

Spurs must be bricking it. Bring it on!

Totally!

We never looked comfortable knocking the ball about at the back today and all the time it was just 1-0 the butterflies were getting worse & worse - especially when that Kante pass across our  box get intercepted. 

We were unlucky not to increase our lead but it was quite a nervy game and I'm more than happy to take that 1-0.

it's only 0-1 but i thought it was a pretty comfortable win tbh another entertaining display of attacking possession football from us, easily could've been 0-3 pedro were very very unlucky

aside from that negredo shot off a ridiculous video game touch boro never really threaten thanks to an absolutely immense performance from our back three, but not gonna lie i got a bit nervous when ivan came in
